Season 9

This season I didn't want to change anything in the tactic section as I was more than happy with the results but the season started bad-ish, we won some games and didn't lose but the boys (Fati, Pedri and Alvarez) had just few goals, our luck was with the other players who did score a lot... I didn't knew why was this way.

I did try to modify the attack settings, so switch places of players etc, nothing worked until I had the idea to look at the tactical role of the boys and seems that Pedri, who acted as CF, is now recommended as Terquartista... maybe because he is used as MC in Spain NT and he likes more behind the strikers!? I never used this tactical role, never in FMM20 or any other FM but I went on and assign this role to Pedri, moved him to the right and brought Fati to the center and switched him from P to CF (he was recommended as CF because his training was right from the start CF)... and lord behold, it worked, they started to have games almost like last few seasons, not like that bat was ok-ish, I still got maybe 90 goals. In late January I got Pedri back to center and Fati to the right and they started to bring on average 2 goals/game, a target that I dreamed it but never realized.

So, the new tactic is G | BPD-BPD | DLP | AP-MC | W-W | AF-T-CF, attacking, wide, fast.

I did study a little to understand better and now I like this role, I may will use it in other future saves.

 

Transfers, I only got future players, and two rotation player on bosman, but one I have sold right away because I got a cool wonderkid from my Academy... and this is the best draft from academy that I ever had.

 

Competitions, the league started bad-ish and we had some draws and Real won everything, almost everything. We climbed on 1st position only in mid January. In the end we won everything .

Even though we didn't had the best first half of the season, the boys managed over 100 goals, 116 exactly!

With Pedri as Terquartista, the other two had their best season so far, and Pedri had 35 goals but his contribution was priceless.

818/1500, and off we go over the half of this challenge and right now the average is almost 91 goals/seasosn!!!

Next season I'm looking forward as I feel that it will be the best season, club and now the NT.

By the way, Spain is ranked 2nd, after France, but my god the squad is week, I will have to raise some players!

Thanks! Yes, I remember it was in the team when you got to Barca, one of the only few who wasn't a regen. I had it also in my Rogerio Ceni challenge.

Season 10

This season I did ZERO, NADA, NONE changes to the tactics, finally!

As transfers, two backups on bosman, one future prospect (Rodriguez - ST), one for the rotation (Culpi - BPD), one for rotation as player exchange (Arezo who wanted to be the first choice instead of Fati vs Baker-Richardson) and two Spaniards for rotation and Spain NT (Alcacer -DM and Alonso -CM).

 

Competition wise, as usual plus the Club World Championship

After the first season with 100 goals, my dream-target was to get 2 gioals/game on average in a season and this time we got it, on the club level... on National Team level is was ok-ish, but that is just a bonus!

965/1500, and we're almost 2/3 of this challenge and right now the average is almost 97 goals/seasosn! Let's get 100 average boys!!!

Season 11

This season I did plan to lay low and do nothing, just enjoy, maybe the boys are on trending, but wasn't exactly like that... Alvarez was in his last year of contract and gave me some chills as in December he still didn't wanted to sign, neither in January... but he signed at last in February!

 

Transfers, nothing, absolutely nothing!

 

The season was great but started to shake in february, we still won a lot but the boys were absent from the score sheet and little by little the team followed, and the peak of it was in Champions Cup QF where Chelsea beat us home and away to knockout us from the competition. As a result we loose 4 potential games (Champions Cup semis and final, Euro Super Cup from next year). There are 60 games max in a season, this season 57 and next one 59 max.

Season 12

 

The bad-ish form from last season went on in this season and combined with an semi-injury crisis in October-December, we had a bad start... not like losing games or something like this, we drew a lot and the boys weren't on the score sheet. Even from the start I've begun to change some bits in the tactics and in January I've changed the Trequarista of Pedri to Deep Lying Forward to make him go even deeper in the middle to get balls and worked, somehow. So the tactics from this season were:

Good opponents like Real, Barca, Valencia, Sevilla, PSG, BvB etc - G | BPD-BPD | DLP | AP-MC | W-W | AF-DLF-CF, attacking, wide, fast.

Normal and week opponents - G | BPD-BPD | DLP | AP-MC | W-W | AF-T-CF, overload, wide, fast.

Also, worth mentioning that from the moment I took the job at Spain NT I have started to reconstruct 1. to have more Spanish players so it will be easy for me there and because the lack of good players for the NT 2. Some players are already old, 28-32 years, old for me and there are some better players out there so I can change.

 

Transfers,  Lopez (Spain - ST) as a rotation for Fati, Soler (Spain - Wonderkid) the new rotation for AMR, Diaz as a backup for the striker and Merchan (Spain) who is an academy graduate that I've sold at 18 years old because I couldn't fit him in the squad at that time have come back, is AML (player exchange fro Pellistri).

 

Competitions... we're back in the business in the Champions Cup!

At Spain NT the tactic that I'm using at the club is not working so I had G | CD-NCB-CD | AP-MC | W-W | AF-CF-P counter, wide, fast - until now and because it was International League year and the FA told me that they don't give a f#*k about this competition, I took the opportunity to experiment... FAIL. Lost first 3 matches, won the next two and draw the last one...

The good part is I have changed the tactic a little bit after my taste. Andddd, next time we're gonna have weaker opponents, so maybe more goals for the boys!?

Fati is becoming more arrogant, he was upset that I have subbed him... twice. At the end of the season the "wants new challenge" showed up and I recon I will have a bad time with him next season...

Alvarez and Pedri were part of the injury crisis and they lost some matches, too many for Alvarez...

Not a bad year but too many downs, 1216/1500. The average right now is 101 goals per season!

Keeping in mind the situation right now, squad reconstruction, Fati beeing a b!%#h, and some injuries, the dream to finish in 14 seasons as @Scratch told me, is kind of far now, I need two consecutive seasons with around 140-150 goals each, kind of hard! 

Even if they have stamina 20 and 15-17 on strength, I keep them only 60-70 minutes per match and once in a while I need to rest them for one match, so I take care of them, there seems to be more injuries now, maybe because they are past 25-27 years!?

The good thing is they are back on track and each of them has 4-5 years left out of contract, so I can keep them for the challenge.

Season 13

As I'm in the middle of squad reconstruction wanted to tweak a little the tactic and use the AMR and AML as AP instead of Wingers  so in the first part of the season I've changed that only on one side, on the right so the tactic was G | BPD-BPD | DLP | AP-MC | W-AP | AF-T-F and I saw that the ball movement improved so from January I've also changed that on the left side to be G | BPD-BPD | DLP | AP-MC | AP-AP | AF-Ti-CF. On most of the games is now attacking, wide, fast and only on some matches with weak teams I use overload as I saw that works best only on super easy games.

 

Transfers, I have gone further to bring Spanish players. Hernandez is now on AMR with the wonderkid from last year. Diego Ibanez will go in the middle as CM or AP depending on what I need, is a 20 years old wonderkid. Pareja is now the rotation for Alvarez, is not Spanish, I got it to replace the Spanish Carrascal (wonderkid from the academy) who wanted badly to get a move. Baraja is a 19 yo Spanish wonderkid GK and to replace Bajic I got a backup on bosman, Vakitzis. Olso got some backups on bosman and future prospects for 7.5M and 550k.

 

Competitions, we won everything in style as we didn't lose any games this year, none!

Bonus, we won the European Championsip so now I won any trophy that I could win as a manager.

Well, not too good, Fati is an arrogant and we have problems, he filed for a transfer and I have granted it if an offer over his valuation will come but I'm sure the offer will never come. Him and Pedri are the most valuable players in the game right now by a big margin so no club will have the money to get it.

As he is a very influential player, his fellow team mate Pedi followed to "wants a new challenge" but is was quickly resolved with a talk and then shortly after a new 5 year contract.

 

At the end of the season Fati perfomance had a drop because is more and more against me, he doesn't trust me anymore and doesn't respect me... we had again few fights because I have subbed him so from now on I will have to leave him on the pitch until is under 80% condition or 90 minutes straight and then after 2-3-4 games to keep him on the bench for one match.

 

1356/1500, and with this year 140 will give me an average of over 104 goals/season, way way over my initial target of 75 goals.

So, forgetting the tensions with Fati, it was a good season and that gives me hope that I can end this in one more season, I will need 144 goals and is doable with Club World Championship next year, International League Div.B and some games in the World Cup  qualifications.

Season 14

Aaaaaand is done! And in big style, winning 64 out of 65 games and making only one draw with PSG. 38 wins out of 38 games in La Liga!!!

I must confess that we had some luck, the last game we won it in the 94th minute 

 

The tactic changed this year... again! As I had a lot of problems with Fati, he had a bad start and when I took a look at tactical role, now is recommended as Poacher, a role that I wanted him to be at the beginning of the challenge. So the final tactic is G | BPD-BPD | DLP | AP-MC | AP-AP | AF-T-P, attacking, wide, fast. 

Side tactic, on weak teams I wanted to stop using the same tactic but with overload and I've changed it and use it 5-6 times this season G | BPD-BPD | AP-BWM | AP-AP-AP | AF-T-P with the 3 AP just below the front 3 and Pedri smashed it, 3-5 goals/game on those games.

 

Transfers, I only bought future player of 16-18 years old.

Fati is not arrogant, is an idiot! On all awards that he was present and did not win it, he was upset because he feels he was better and he deserve it... even in the top goalscorer where Pedri had 12 goals more... idiot, i can't stand him! I know @Scratchmade few experiments with players getting big wages and the professionalism went down after every signed contract, maybe Fati's professionalism is below 0 now. IDIOT!

The armada!

On international matches they were mediocre with only 6 goals from 6 matches in the International League... where we have promoted back to Division A. But on the club level Pedri was a killer!

1504/1500 and the challenge is now completed! With an average of over 107 goals/season I'm very happy... I'm not happy about Fati's development in the last few years.

If I had to pick a favorite that would be Alvarez, miles away as potential from the other two he did step up his game every time one of the other had a bad season and he always provided a lot of assists. He also had the most injuries so.. Pedri and Fati, well done, I was expecting that! Alvarez you have my respect!!

It will NOT be the next season, even if they have some seasons out of their contract (Fati 2 years, Alvarez 3 years and Pedri 4 years) and I'm sure I can get them to sign for another 5 years then (maybe not on Fati!?) I don't want to continue, I want to take on few small challenges and then maybe wait for FMM21.

It was great to see a big season at the end there. I feel like if you kept going you'd eventually get that sort of number most seasons (well except they'd get old - I just mean that you were almost there, just a few tweaks and that would be a consistent number for you).

Pedri's attributes look super super amazing. I sold him early on in my TT - now I'm wishing I'd kept him! 

As for Fati, I've had that happen for some players, but never the main challenge players (not the "don't trust you any more" part) - that's super scary for it to happen with them! Great that you could still get through the season with a good score...

Anyway, well done, very interesting to follow, looking forward to your next career. 😄

Thanks boys. I saw that Fati and Pedri are on hype also in real life for Barca now so, they are truly good. 

@Kun Aguero I like to retrain my players, maybe 85-90% of my players gets retrain and Pedri liked to get retrain positions, he liked the role every time.

@Scratch I will take a pause few days and then I want to try Liverpool front 3, Chester 108 points and Park the bus.
