Welcome back to another update, we were hoping to go for the 100 again, but I don’t know if he’s capable of it, we shall find out now....

So we spent quite a bit this season but made a lot, Sancho came in but he didn’t suit the way we play, so we swapped him for Tonali, who I love 🥰

Another great season as we bag the champions league again, so that’s 5 European trophies in 7 seasons, which is excellent for Celtic, we did struggle to score in Europe though...

So a decent season from Ryan, but no 100 goals, which at one point actually looked like it may happen, he was scoring bucket loads at the start but slipped up towards the end of the season, only one 3 week injury as well. Maybe he will get 100, but with no stat increase now, I just can’t see it.

Maaybe 80-ish is his cap, a good one I would say. You just passed the half mark of the challenge!!

As @Scratch told, maybe even if he doesn't say it, some matches off will increase his performances. I had the same idea with Fati and  I've started to give him more minutes and rest him every 3-4-5 matches and he got a little bit better.

Maybe give more minutes on easy games and less on harder ones. Is not a rule as we all know that sometimes you just kill champions league opponents and struggle with relegation battle teams

Another brilliant season mate, don’t give up on the 100 goal season just yet. Need some luck with injuries etc and there’s still plenty of time.

Good going mate. Looks like maybe that's the best he'll get attribute wise? But he could still get 100 - I've had players score more when they get to 27 or 28 (without any attribute improvements). Hard to know which way it will go. My money is on 99 goals being his best season! 🤣

And yeah, sometime giving the player a couple of games off every so often can help keep them fresh. Hard to know for sure if that actually helps or not, but it definitely feels (to me) like it does. He's not playing ITN, so he get's those breaks anyway. Maybe just give him one game off before or after the ITN break so he gets close to a full 2 weeks off. I also often rest 1KC players in the CL and save them for those easy games. But there's no hard and fast rules around this, just try a few things and see if they work for you or not.

Yeah I can’t see him improving now which is disappointing, I’ve used him before but was on the original database and he got a lot better, I probably should have gone for the original database, but we will try and get that 100 😁

I think I’m going to try and play him just in league and domestic cup games for the upcoming season, I can’t help putting him in sometimes, but I need to try a different route for a season as well, just to see. Cheers for your comment Scratch 👍

Season 8

So finally welcome back to another season, been a busy week or so and I thought I’d play this season different and go all out attack, which I was hoping would improve things, but we shall see.

Honestly don’t remember too much of this transfer window as it was over a week ago, none of the players I signed had any minutes really, I didn’t really need to sign any of them, but felt the need to spend a little bit 😂

So what a season, so many goals scored in every tournament, we really dominated and the way I had been playing these seasons previously was boring as we were so defensive, so this season brought my love back a bit, but did it make Ryan score more?

So we’ve got a very healthy transfer budget, making more than 1b on transfers is really nice, I don’t think we need any signings either for a couple of years at least.

But we carry on, I won’t be giving up 😁

So welcome back for another season, after a season full of goals the previous year we were going to try and replicate that again but more goals for Ryan.

So loads going out again. Maybe a bit too much, got in a habit now of making money not like my previous saves, I think I need a few signings next season though, got about a 1b saved up now.

So another great season, with loads of goals being scored again, but would more go to Ryan than the previous season? He loved a final to be fair to him.

Season 10

Welcome back to another addition of shit updates in regards to Ryan Edmonson being very silly and saying he wanted me to get him a 1,000 goals!

A lot of money exchanging hands, most expensive signing we’ve made my a long way, but unfortunately that thing happened when Pedri signed his stats dropped. So he was only used as my second no 10.

Tactics

So I knew things needed to change and I had changed to this formation last few games of the previous season, it’s a 1-3-2-3-1, so a very different looking formation, but will it bring the results I want?? I’ve used defensive and overload tactics for most of 2020 version, this is the first time I’ve gone “attacking”

So a good season, maybe not as good as previous years after Ryan gave us a healthy lead against Liverpool in the champions league final, they did there usual “let’s have one of the best finals ever and let them go ahead and we’ll come back routine” but the thing that counts for us is, if Ryan can pick up his form??

So we’ve made nearly double of what we’ve spent which is nice, you don’t need to spend much as youngsters come through but it’s always a risk as to be honest you do need the best squad available to get the best out of Ryan.

So a huge jump up on goals for Ryan, I’m gutted it’s taken me 10 years to figure out a way of playing, but it doesn’t matter too much as it’s part of the fun, I employed him as a Complete Forward and it seemed to work very well. I’ve had a lot of success with Complete Forward this year, so would for sure recommend. Could we yet see the 100 come??

Well look how lucky you all are getting a second update in a day, you’re all probably thinking you’re in heaven, but I can confirm you are still stuck in the shambles that is 2020.

So a fantastic season as we now have the champions league back in our hands. Less goals from the team this season, can’t tell you why that is as we set up the same way as previous year.

I know, kind of wish I had created this one in our head to head, it’s not relying so much on crossing now, it’s got a bit of everything, hope it keeps working for the new game! I think next season will be my last to get 100 as he will probably decrease 🙈

Just been catching up with this and a bit of roller coaster ride to read the last 4 or 5 seasons or so in a row. A bit like binge watching a Netflix show! So much happens! 😄

I mean there was that season where you got 173 goals in the league, but Edmonson did increase. Then he went backwards, then you started scoring less overall, but he got more. Now up to 94! Man, what a ride! 🤣

Anyway, looks like this formula is the one and you aren't far off 100. I think with a slightly better striker you would have cracked it already. Keep going and push him harder! Make him get those goals for you!

I’m glad it sounds fun, plenty of drama with my Ryan, I should release a behind the scenes, see what he gets up too 🤣

Yeah it's good when the goals are raining in... Doesn't always work best for a single striker challenge though. Nice formation there, looks attacking but solid enough for FM.

I gotta say I haven't had much luck with CFs this year. Tried a few times, but seem to get better results with Ts (if I want them to go all over and be the star), TMs (if I want them in the box, whether they are good in the air or not), or AF (if I want them doing a bit of everything, but still generally in or around the box most of the time). I'll have to try again some time...

No defo doesn’t work with a single striker, found the perfect way to play with 3 strikers and loads of goals, I think my DT was most enjoyable though, so many goals went to the front two!

I’ve had some success with TM and AF but not as much as with the CF, Haaland was a Target man in my DT and it worked perfect for him, I do wonder in my current formation how many he’d score as a CF.

I’ve already finished the following season now, so will update in a bit, when I get going, I get through seasons so fast 🤣

Welcome back again, after a great increase in goals the last two seasons, I was still chasing that elusive 100 goals for a season with Ryan, if we don’t get it, I won’t be disheartened as his stats didn’t get to where I thought they would.

So nothing big to note, I don’t know why I’m signing youngsters as this should be wrapped up soon, even Dier is just a great prospect.

This is the way I’ve set up for most of the past 3 seasons, which I wish I had done earlier, I was way to defensive at the start and then got too attacking, now I’ve found a perfect combination, hoping this works on FM21 alongside my TT one and DT one, I’m sorted then 🤣

So another great season and the amount of goals were up this season which is great, barely conceding with 1 CB, always amuses me, that should not be happening but I’m not complaining. Only just realised I haven’t lost a league game throughout this career 🤣

How annoying is that, 4 off now, this game is just taking the piss out of me, so close to 100 in my DT and this one, proper frustrating, but I can’t say I’m too disappointed though as if Messi or Ronaldo hit that amount in a season it would be by far there best. Hopefully get this wrapped up next season, so this will actually be my 3rd entry in to the 1k without realising, this has been most rewarding though as he’s not a great player, good striker though.
