Day 1!

Starting a fresh with no reputation with the goal of one day becoming the best manager of the best team in the world! 

As you can see we're at the bottom of the Scottish Football League with basic facilities. Ideally I'd like to play a high Press attacking style of football but realistically with the limited technical/physical abilities available to us we're likely going be restricted to a counter attacking style of play. 

We're going to start off with he Fluid Counter preset tactic and will develop my style of play as the team grows. It has very little team/player instructions which should suit us and with the small squad, it shouldn't be too physical demanding.

Will use the little funds we have to pick up a few loans to help give us a bit more strength in depth! I've also picked up a couple of staff members Kris Boyd as an attacking coach and Eric Abidal as a youth scout! 

I'll probably updated after Pre-season then once more in January before a review at the end of each year. 

Any hints or tips with presenting will be much appreciated 😁

Well it's been a disaster... 

January window has just closed and we're 9th! Took us until the beginning of December to register our first one after a promising preseason. We then went on a 5 win streak but it was ended abruptly and we're now on 5 games without a win as well as being dumped out of the Scottish Cup in the third round. 

Had to abandon the Fluid Counter tactic and go to a more traditional 4-1-2-2-1 which has brought more goals. We're playing well, still struggling to score but I'm confident we can put a few results together to finish mid table!

I haven't got the game atm, mate. I am very tempted to buy a Chromebook to play it on though, (Mobiles are too small) just looking around for one, might buy one come Black Friday.

Well this is where we're at 😔 very disappointed I couldn't turn it around. Felt like I was fighting a losing battle, lost the dressing room and everything... What next?

I have realised I didn't save the game since the last friendly at the beginning of the season may give it a restart...since the goal was to make Elgin successful its pointless to continue 🤔

Attempt number 2!

Well here's a quick update! 

It's the beginning of December and we find ourselves sitting in a playoff position. Still a lot of football left to play but after trying various formations we finally settled for the preset Gengen press 4-3-3.

Not too sure about the preset roles up front as we don't create/score much but will leave it for the season and see how we finish. 

Picked up a few players for the spine again including a GK which is much needed!

Well there it is! Continued the form and managed to secure second place! Slight dip in form with about 6 games left meant we missed out on automatic promotion but absolutely delighted with how the season went! 

Disappointing defeat in the first round of the playoffs after a solid 1-0 win in the first leg. 

3 players in TOTY which is awesome

Finally my ST Makoube picking up POTY!

New season and only 1 new face in the starting 11 with loanee Michael O'connor coming in from Ross County to play in the new TM role replacing Hester who played Pressing Forward last season and we struggle in the attack at times. 

An early update due to a fantastic start to the season with 5 wins from 5 and only 1 goal conceded. Bagging my first Manager of the Month and a POTM for my fullback 🤞 we keep up the form!

Unlucky about missing out on automatic promotion and losing in the Play Offs, at least you had a better first season than last time. 

Great start to the second season though. Finger crossed your team keeps it up!

It's 1st December! 

As you can see the team are still flying! Unbeaten in the league with our only defeats coming in Cup competitions.

However we're also through to the Semi-final of the SPFL Trust Trophy (Challenge Cup) after a great run! 

Some funds extra funds have been made available so I'll be looking for a few backups in January to allow for rotations as we've been extremely lucky remaining almost injury free thus far. May even try to upgrade my facilities if the club allows!

Not counting my chickens just yet only half way through and a couple of injuries to key players could cripple me. 

They've a decent squad to be fair, not sure if it's the game or what but I really struggled to find a formation that work until the 4-3-3 flat that I settled with.

Well the unbeaten run comes to an end eventually mid January and it's to our closest rivals with an 89th minute screamer 🙈

Still sitting at the top of the league with the gap down to 3 points, really need to push on from here and get on a good run again! 

Not much wheeling and dealing in January, but did manage to get 2 CMs in to provide necessary cover there. With one Liam Burt slotting straight in as Cameron is out for a month! 

Did manage to pick up this bargain on a pre-contract... 

At only 17 and the plan to change my CM to a RP next season this guy will be a future mainstay!

We done it! 

With one more loss against Peterhead and losing to Falkirk 0-1 in the Semi-final of the Challenge Cup, we romped the league by 21 points! 

Burt coming in during January to play in the RP center mid role won POTY 😮

We managed 3 players in TOTY also the with Makoube also picking up Top Goalscorer!

The squad went from the 4th tier to the Premiership with some great players as Cameron, McDonald(left-back), McHardy and the free agent legend Quitongo. Since this time, I have a sympathy with your club and I expect you to achieve the initial goals!

Season 3 and first in Scottish League 1

Loads of fringe players released at the end of last with a view to strengthening the first team and picking up some youth. Had also planned to change the 2 Poachers to IF's but couldn't find the players so not much has changed. Bought last seasons POTY Liam Burt from Cove Rangers who impressed whilst on loan. Having selected France/Spain/Germany as other playable leagues, really struggling with getting players due to work permits at the moment. 

This is how we line up for the season...

After pre-seasonal and group stages of the Betfred Cup we topped our group! Looking like more of the same from last year hopefully. I was modest with the goals towards the board looking to steer clear of relegation but tbh I think we'll be more mid table 🤫

Haven't changed the team instructions at all and on player instructions I've changed the pressing forward to TM and CM to RP. 

The basic formation is the preset Gengen press with the 433.

I haven't really touched it much other than get my best aerial/shooting player at front post and put he corner there. On defensive i make sure i have 2/3 players back.

If you're starting as lower league team, I used the CM instead of RP (it's set to that as standard) gives you a bit more defensive solidarity. Really depends on your players though. Good luck and let me know how you get on
