Career Park Ji Sung Challenge Season 5

So I decided to choose the Park Ji Sung challenge because I am Korean and I decided to give trying out a challenge for the first time. First of all, my “Park Ji Sung” I chose 21 year old Eom Won-Sang from Gwangju (K League)

 

During FMM20, I opted to play 3-5-1-2 or 4-4-2 so for the '21 version, I chose to go with 4-4-2 with Eom playing as MR.

 

Long story short, I won the Dutch Cup on my first year,

 

Finished first in the Eredivise by a long margin

 

And was lucky enough to get Eom the Silver boot

 

Most of my losses were in Euro Cup games, and I was lucky enough to the semi-finals and just as I had my sights on winning the Euro… but then Villarreal happened

For season 2of my career, I am most proud to claim that I have successfully completed the PSV section of this challenge. First off I had won the Dutch Super Cup against Ajax 2-0

I had then gotten an offer from Tottenham and I such was happy in thinking of what it would be like to have Eom play MR, setting up crosses to Kane, but I still had yet to win my second Eredivise, so after crying myself to sleep, I had declined the offer.

For my Champions Cup group stage, I was put in the same group as Man Utd, FC RB Salzburg and Bayer 04. I was doubtful of coming out of the group 1^st, but to my dismay, after losing the final two games of the group stage, I came out 3^rd. I then got knocked out of the second knockout round against Basel (0-1 agg.)

To help me get over my loss, I focused on the Dutch Cup and was lucky enough to get easy opponents until the final where I beat Willem II 3-0.

Eom was injured 4~5 times this season so he only got to play half of what he played last season but still he was able to contribute for 12 goals (2 goals and 10 assists)

I had forgotten to take a picture of the table for Eredivise but I got lucky because I took a screen shot of the season review trophy winner.

After the 2^nd season had come to an end, no Premier League team was looking for a new manager. Actually Leicester City’s Arteta’s position was very insecure, and so I did apply for the position, but they gave the job to David Healy (my new arch-nemesis), and the only team to offer me a position was Dortmund. But then after checking the job section almost every day even in to the 3^rd season, I found that Crystal Palace had let go of their manager and so I applied and I was lucky enough to get the job.

However, before I got the Crystal Palace job, I fought and won against Ajax 3-2 for the Dutch Super Cup making it 2 Eredivise, 2 Dutch Cup and 2 Dutch Super Cup.

And this is the short highlighted fixture for the 21/22 season

So as people know I moved to Crystal Palace but I only had $70M to spend and PSV decided that they would only send Eom to me at the price of $38.5M!!! I first bought him at 3.5M.... Geez I thought they would at least give me a discount for helping them win so much....

But still I got lucky as I got offered the position of manager for the South Korean Team. (I checked the job section everyday in case this might happen  ) and right away I made the South Korean team the Asian Cup champion

Though Eom wasn't able to get in any goals for the duration of the Cup, he did get in an assist against Japan during the semi-final and got named Asian Nations Cups MVP after Heung-min Son, and Kang-in Lee

Now that I got the good news out of the way, its time for the bitter reality that is the Premier League... The start was just horrible. I took over CP right before the second Blackburn game and after the fourth consecutive winless game, I was felt that I was going to be fired unless I got a victory soon. It didn't help that most of CP's players were ages 30+, and many were injured. (It was only after the Burnley game that I was able to recruit somewhat decent defenders to help out the back line)

For the overall fixture there are more reds and yellow than I would have liked and there were times when I was just 2 points away from entering the relegation zone. But it all ended out somewhat well as I finished 13th 

Eom played a total of 30 games for CP but also played 14 international games and was able to more than double his value from 23.5M to 51M

Managed to pick up Thomas Muller and Kevin Trapp along with some other talents in order to cover up for the retiring players. 5 games played (including friendlies) and so far doing pretty well  Target this season is 7th place

Season 4 started off well with me getting a gold coaching qualification

My goal this season was to be within 7th place and for the outcome was better than I expected so looks like I get a chance to play in the Champions League once again after my very short stint when I was in PSV

Carabao Cup run ended at the fourth round against Man Utd (the eventual runner up who lost to Millwall who ended their season 8th in the Championship)

My FA Cup run was more successful as the final three were against supposed weaker teams (Liverpool – 9th, Norwich – 15th, Tottenham – 11th). Winning against them 3-1, 4-0, and 3-0

Eom was injured three times but he played a total of 33 games and ended with 1 goal and 14 assists for the whole season. Also, Eom was able win 2nd place for player of the year.

For the Korean National team, I made it through the World Cup Qual with ease.

Funny blooper (I know that Heung-min Son’s last name doesn’t start with a H) but I just found it funny that everyone who scored in that game’s name started with an H

Loanee Daniel Maldini (who played SS scoring 20 goals and making 4 assists) made it as Young Player of the Year and so I had the loan restriction abolished!!

For both season 4 and the current season I start off great... its just that I start to fall near the end... The fact that the older players all want to retire after their contract ends and don't want to move clubs is making it harder for me to bring in new talents though

First off, the season started off by winning the Community Shield for 24/25 season.

Carabao Cup ended very happily as I beat a weak Liverpool (ended the season as 13^th place), but the very next game was the FA Cup fifth round, and as most of my starter’s condition weren’t what I wanted it to be and so I lost the game but still because I won the Carabao Cup I consider it an overall win

I was lucky enough to get win the Premier League quite quickly,

Champions League started off great knocking out Barcelona, but semi-final was as far as I could get as Inter Milan denied me a victory. (It hurt me more because for FMM20 my main team was Inter and Barella was one of the guys I depended on most)

And for my own achievement, I got the Premier Division Manager of the Year.

Now to talk about mt “Park Ji-Sung”, Eom placed third for Asian Footballer of the Year (fellow Korean Kang-in Lee beat Heung-Min Song for the first time in four years)

Eom was not injured during the whole season so he did play more games and got a total of 13 assists (including international)
