Career Smog’s Badges - 05 Bruno’s New Years Party!

Hi all and welcome to my Badge No.4 attempt - The 3 Kings.

First up I decided to take charge of Real Madrid and use 3 kings already at the club, namely;

£114m (!) later and our Jesus was ready. 

Transfers were minimal, just an improvement on each flank.

We had a few annoying injuries, particularly to Jesus. It wasn’t just the injury period but the time to get back to full fitness after injury which was so frustrating.

On the pitch we won the league with a few games to spare and both domestic cups, but were beaten by Bayern in the CL semis.

Here’s how our 3 kings and Jesus performed. Jesus gpg ratio was pretty good but he only managed 37 games. I played Isco and Asensio either side as IF’s hence their goal return. I expected that but had hoped for a few more assists due to the tactical instructions. Hazard was played just behind as an AP.

So 47 goals for Jesus, 16 assists for Isco, 22 assists for Asensio and 18 assists for Hazard gives me a total of 103 if @Rob could add me to the leaderboard please? Many thanks.

Great effort that Smog, unlucky with the injuries to Jesus as well or that would have been a lot more goals in!

Those injuries really hurt your score but still it’s a pass and that’s a great achievement in the circumstances so well done.

Out of interest did you haggle much for Jesus as I think I paid about £70m once I sweetened the deal with a player and sell on %?

@FuddledFox I’m sure they wanted more and I haggled down a touch and gave a sell on. It still seemed ridiculously expensive for him though and your £70m sounds more realistic.

They wanted about 150m iirc to start with and I got them down to 70m + Gnabry so in all honesty I probably paid about the same as you but I was happy to let Gnabry go.

Great stuff Smoggy, for both this one and the Redknapping one. Interesting that you used IFs for this one - I'm still trapped in the mindset of never using them because they score too much, but they've actually given you quite a few assists there. I really need to expirement with them more.

Thanks guys and yeah @Scratch I did have some concerns myself and they did score a few too many, but I had through balls and work into box selected in the hope they would provide as well, which they did. Also Jesus still scored plenty, more than a gpg I’d say is decent going, so I don’t think they took too many goals away from him.

Badge 05 - Bruno’s New Year Party!

I cracked straight on with this next badge as it suited a tactic I have used and been working on since FMM20. 
The tactic is below and relies on two big TM up front to enable the treq just behind to wreak havoc, and that’s exactly what he did.

My transfers involved replacing Rashford and Martial with the likes of Mitrovic, Fullkrug, Mandzukic and Muriqi. Cavani and Ighalo were also used with great affect (unfortunately Ighalo went back in Jan). Some of this business was done in summer, some of it in Jan.

Here’s how the season went, very successful but with two at the back you are always likely to have some crazy games. Check out the CL final against Dortmund!

This was my favourite game of the season. Mata came on for Bruno in this game and shows how effective the treq is as he bagged a hat trick!

Thanks guys, tactic worked a treat and although we had injuries thankfully nothing serious to Bruno. 
I’d like to experiment with a treq and a SS behind two TM next.
