Career RichD - The Can’t Dance (Attempt 1, Complete)

I know it’s the last dance but I can’t dance. Anyway back in office now on a Tuesday and Wednesday but home to play FMM the days I WFH 👀

This challenge sounded an interesting one and I’ve started this morning and signed the lads for one last dance at Barca, how will we do? I’m not sure, I’m going to use the same tactic as I used for the Tottenham one but with an inside forward brought in instead of my DLP, with a little tweak to the instructions. Could mean more goals but could also mean the tactic isn’t as effective.

Anyway I’m sure I’ll probably complete this today, so will probably have an update later 😁

Part 1

So this is just an update from the start of the season to December 31st. And yes I have blasted through this, enjoying it very much.

Some decent business done, not too much though, we really strengthened central midfield which I felt was lacking a bit. There will be more business in Jan though as Griezmann and Umtiti are off, I don’t feel like we need more than 2 players in January.

So perfect start to the league campaign with loads of goals being scored, would that emulate on to the players though?

Somehow finished second even with the amount of goals we lost, away defeats to PSG and Inter did it.

Part 2

Welcome back and we go about part 2 and the ending of the season, we were hoping for more of the same but hopefully no more injuries!

So with Griezman and Umtiti going we brought in Martial, Skriniar and Rabiot in January to strengthen the team even more.

La Liga

So a brilliant league season, losing two games but the amount we scored was a joy. The boys really clicked and we smashed home some beauties.

Copa Del Rey

One thing with playing the way we do is that defensively it can be weak some games and they tore us apart on the counter, we had plenty of shots, but we played so many games by this point, the boys were pretty tired.

Champions League

So we won the champions league to wrap up a great season for us, lots of goals again, Suarez and Neymar making up for lost time from earlier in the season.

Great job mate and right to the top of the leaderboard you go! You got your lads to play a lot more than mine (all yours were in the 50s, mine were all in the 40s) - were you playing them tired? Or maybe you don't press as much or something?

Yeah I only had closing down in own half, which was done for that reason, so they wouldn’t tire as much, Messi seemed to get tired around 60th minute still though, the other two always played more minutes than Messi. Seemed to work quite well 😁

I toyed with that idea because it said that they wouldn't be good at pressing, but in the end I couldn't help myself! I'll probably do some more experimentation later, because the full press just messes their condition up too much.
