Report · Posted December 23, 2020 So is there any rhyme or reason to when the club world cup happens? Yours was in 2025, I just had it appear in 2022 (Season 3), and I've seen other people post about winning it in the first season. Is it just like one of those rare Pokémon that you just need to be ready for at any moment?

So it looks like it's moving to every 4 years, like the national world cup. I'm not sure if it's just the last winner or a playoff between the previous 4 year's winners, I had won the last 4 year's worth of champions leagues so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Report · Posted January 4 (edited) Due to family commitments I haven't been able to get my progress updated, so I'll do the next two seasons in quick succession, I've just got to try and remember what happened in what season CONCAF Leg - Season 2 (2027) We got a big injection of money at the start of the year so I was able to get them to upgrade the training ground and youth system to bring both of them up to Superb So I did ok this season, managing a clean sweep in all competitions. Spoiler CONCAF Champions League: Lamar Hunt US Open Cup: MLS MLS Western Conference: MLS Supporters Shield: MLS Cup: I drew against LA Galaxy in the El Tráfico at some point, so I ruined out winning streak :( It should be 15 games undefeated against LA Galaxy now. Spoiler Transfers were pretty normal, trying to replace out going players with youngsters with potential, and starting to try and get my Domestic Bias up by signing USA players if I can, Jonathas Cristian Pereira dos Santos is a wonderkid who I've been trying to sign for the entire year, they would negotiate by upping the price then just reject it, but I noticed he wasn't loan listed, just transfer listed. So I signed him on loan, with a buyout fee and signed him that way! I had my first big sale in Rojas for 33m to Roma as as well, not bad for getting him for 1.1m the season before! Spoiler In Out Portillo, once again got top scorer and best Young Player in the Champions League and also won the best USA Young Player of the Year this year too. Spoiler His stats are looking pretty decent now as well: But he had a couple of injuries this year and was getting tired quite a lot. He was also attracting a bit of attention from the big clubs in Europe and so was getting his head turned I think, which is why his league goals weren't great. Fixtures: Spoiler Points time! AFC Leg Score: 76 points CONCAF Leg Score: S1 - 5 goals CONCAF Leg Score: S2 - 11 goals Total Score: 92 points A much improved score over last year, and hopefully we can improve again next season and then power through to the next CWC and go to Europe and play more games as more games = more potential for more points! Report · Posted January 4 (edited) CONCAF Leg - Season 3 (2022) So I did the same again this season, managing another clean sweep in all competitions. With Portillo grabbing a fifer in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Final Spoiler CONCAF Champions League: Lamar Hunt US Open Cup: MLS MLS Western Conference: MLS Supporters Shield: MLS Cup: I still haven't lost an El Tráfico derby so we should be at 17 games undefeated against LA Galaxy now, damn that 1 draw! Spoiler Transfers were quiet this season, most of the out goings were my massive reserves going out on loan to all the clubs under the sun. And trying to sell off my foreign players to get my Domestic Bias up a bit more, and trying to improve my squad overall and my youth academy has provided some decent, not amazing players. Spoiler In Out Portillo, once again got top scorer and best Young Player in the Champions League and won the best USA Young Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Spoiler His stats are still improving, just a little bit slower: He only got injured once I think this year, but it was in the 1st leg of the Champions League Final and was for a month so he took a while to get back into full fitness and goal scoring form, he's still attracting attention from Europe and needed a few "talks" and a new contract to keep him happy. Fixtures: Spoiler Points time! AFC Leg Score: 76 points CONCAF Leg Score: S1 - 5 goals CONCAF Leg Score: S2 - 11 goals CONCAF Leg Score: S3 - 9 goals Total Score: 101 points I think getting injured in that first leg of the CL Final meant he didn't get those couple of extra goals, but he did seem to make up for it later on in the season. But we've broken the 100 points barrier now yay! Next year should be CWC again, so fingers crossed he can smash through the Champions League and keep his momentum to get a nice big score to "finish" this leg. Weirdly I haven't had a single job offer, it must be due to LAFC having a higher star rating, but I've keeping an eye on the Scottish and Russian leagues to see if there's anyone other than the big teams winning the leagues (there hasn't been). So I feel like I might be able to cause some upsets in Europe when I get over there. My current thoughts are to finish in Scotland as it'd be like me "coming home", plus I've got my fingers crossed for Berwick Rangers to make their way to the Premiership and depending on how long I have left in the game I might just go there anyway and bring them up to the top from where ever they are, sod the points Edited January 4 by geordiekrispy

How do you think your defense and midfield will hold up against the big euro teams next year? Yeah it's a fair chunk of change, I haven't really been buying that many players (my lower league management style makes me look for bosmans or bargains), but those that I do are for a few seasons ahead. Hopefully my players I've been buying are good enough, they've been improving, but well have to see how it goes. My main issue is the RB and LB positions as I've only got 2 first team squad players in each position there, if there's any injuries or suspensions I'll be screwed and have to bring back my youth academy graduates from their loans.

Report · Posted January 4 Season 4 in the MLS... So this is the season we've all been waiting for! the Club World Cup season! Nice bit of news was another cash injection (which meant I could get them to upgrade the facilities to State of the Art/Top, and they'd decided to build a new stadium for me too! Spoiler I didn't bother coming up with a new name, hence the imaginatively named "New Banc of California Stadium". First up, we had to get the CONCAF Champions League out of the way: Spoiler Not an issue at all, meeting the same teams pretty much in the run up games as well. Portillo was a bit of a monster in the games too, getting two hat-tricks in the group stage. Then it was just a matter of keeping everyone fit and injury free until June when the CWC kicked off. It was once again relatively easy up until the semi's where we met Bayern Munich (again), and just scraped a win in extra time. Then the final up against, Barcelona (again). It was a tight game, with a fair amount of chances for both sides, but ultimately we were victorious with a sneaky 1-0 win! With Portillo getting top scorer and best player awards. Spoiler Then most of my squad went off to play in the CONCAF Gold Cup as I had what seems like a quarter of the USA team in my squad and this happened: So that's him out for the remainder of the season and the start of the next one too. Here's how he looked at that point: Spoiler I'd had to reject some massive bids for him in the run up to this point and so he was generally unhappy about not being allowed to move clubs, which was affecting the rest of the squad a little bit, but the overall squad "report card" was atrocious since I took the job, so I wasn't that worried about it. So out of interest I had a look at the available jobs, my thinking was if there's nothing I can stay put until the end of the MLS season and the bigger clubs could be having their merry-go-round after Christmas. But the only job available was FC Kransnodar in Russia, who had sacked their manager (possibly after losing the first game of the season) and had just sold their best player a young Russian striker who looked pretty decent. But their facilities were State of the Art/Top. Needless to say this happened: So it's time for me to say so long to tinseltown and Privyet to Krasnodar! Here's the various screenshots of the club when I left: Transfers: Spoiler In: Out: I'd let my 5th choice CD's contract run out in between seasons and sold my other older CD. So I needed some replacements hence the taking two CDs from New York Red Bulls (my board thought Bowen was a mistake, but he's 5 star potential and only 16). I also let my Brazilian wonderkid go for 57m as I was happy that the academy graduates that had been out on loan for the past few seasons were up to the task (they were). Fixtures: Spoiler I also hadn't lost in the El Tráfico either, so barring that one draw LAFC were unbeaten in 19 games against LA Galaxy Spoiler The squad overall was pretty impressive: And I left them top of the Western Conference and Supporter's Shield tables: I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't see the season out to see if I could finish it unbeaten, but I think I was unbeaten in something like 50-60 games and had only conceded 2 goals in the league so far this season! That leaves just the points totals for the now competed CONCAF leg AFC Leg Score: 76 points CONCAF Leg Score: S1 - 5 goals CONCAF Leg Score: S2 - 11 goals CONCAF Leg Score: S3 - 9 goals CONCAF Leg Score: S4 - 14+8 = 22 goals CONCAF Total Score: 47 points Total Score: 123 points So onward to southern Russia and let's see if I can find a good player for my national hero! I'd also managed to drag my Domestic Player Bias from a low point of this: To this: It also look like I'll be able to join the 1000 goal club this season (fingers crossed)!
Report · Posted January 6 So as I got into FC Krasnodar after 2 games this is the state of the club: Transfers: Spoiler In: Out: So it looks like they sold their best player (a striker) and spent the money on some defenders. They'd lost the first 2 games of the season, so I didn't think it was too much of an up hill battle to get into Champions League contention, my plan was to get into 3rd place as the top two places go straight into the group stages (and honestly I think I'm going to struggle to start with until I can improve the squad, as it's fairly old and not very good). So I brought in a winger (Despotovski) and a striker (Zuev, who promptly went to the reserves as he was no where near good enough), brought in another striker on loan who looked decent (Galysh) and got another striker on a Bosman at the end of the MLS season (Grishin). Spoiler In: Out: Future Transfers: Overall we did ok, this is how we ended the season in the league: We kept it tight at the back, but my problem seemed to be that my strikers weren't scoring, most of my goals came from my IFs and midfield. My corners were essentially void as the only players who scored from them were my central defenders. We also won the Cup: Fixtures: Spoiler I'll have to see who's available and how much money I get to spend in the summer to see who my national hero is as the current crop have potential but I don't think they're going improve massively so I'll have to ensure I make a good squad around them to get the best out of them. My choices for my National Hero at the end of the season: Spoiler Lunev was the best of the Russians in the first team: Savin is a youngster from the academy who I retrained as a striker: Grishin was the player I brought in on a Bosman from the MLS: Zuev was the first striker I brought in an promptly sent him to the reserves: I won the manager of the year, unsurprisingly: And my ageing winger won player of the year and league players' select player of the year: Spoiler I also managed to join the 1000 goal club (I forgot to check and missed it by a few games, but you can work out when I hit it using these screenshots: Spoiler 15 goals back puts me to the Zenit loss by my calculations, so 9 games. Which puts my "score" as: P W D L GF GA 440 358 52 30 1000 283 81.36% 11.82% 6.82% 2.27 0.64 @FuddledFox do you want to check that and add me to the leaderboard please? There's a couple of ok players, best out of the bunch is Yeleev who's can play anywhere in along the AM line, whenever he plays he tends to get pretty high % increase, even just coming off the bench, so fingers crossed he'll not stagnate. It's strange as I'm using the same formation that did so well elsewhere, so it's got to be my midfield just isn't up to the job. I keep trying out different player/role combinations so it could just be figuring out who's the best combination and it'll all click in place. Plus I think I need better wingers/IFs to actually be able to cross the ball in to the lone striker I'm playing as a TM.

Plus I could probably tweak my formation, but my 4-1-2-2-1 is just so strong defensively, Having a AMC would probably help. With Perth at times I did have that as my main formation and only played a DMC when up against the bigger teams, but at LAFC I just played the DMC, but I can't remember what roles I played the midfield 3 in. I think it was DMC = BWM/DLP MC 1 = BWM/DLP MC 2 = AP/BBM/RP With a max of 2 play makers, I seem to remember swapping the DMC straight to an AMC and making them SS or AP when I was chasing the game. Report · Posted January 8 (edited) Season 2 in Russia felt long... Not sure if it's because you start your friendlies before you tick over to the new season or not, as it's only 30 games in the league, plus the cup (and any European games). After a pleasant surprise (I was expecting to have no money and have to rely on free transfers). My transfers for this season were a bit more on the expensive side than I'm used to, having that wad of cash burning a hole in my pocket and needing to get some better defenders and goalkeeper, plus midfielders, wingers and obviously my strikers needed sorting out too... So a whole new team... Spoiler Started off with the most urgent: The rest: In: Out: It started a bit rocky, as I mentioned above by the time it got to the Champions League group stage my job was supposedly v.insecure I didn't think I'd had that bad a run but my board obviously did... So after that little rocky start we start playing better, still drawing way too many games for my liking which can be seen in the final league table: I drew the last game of the season to Lokomotiv Moscow 2-2 which made me come 2nd due to GD and GF. Plus head to head I'd lost the first game of the season to Spartak Moscow 1-2 But I won the Kubok Rossii (again): The Champions League was... interesting, after the first few qualification games (where my striker started getting into the goals) we had a lovely group of Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen and Rangers... Spoiler I have no idea how I managed to sneak a win against Juventus, and Rangers bossed me in their home game. Next up was Real Madrid... I fully expected to be dumped out at this stage as... it's Real Madrid! But... I won the home leg 3-1! and then drew the away leg 1-1 to go through to the quarter finals! Weirdly I didn't get a "giant killing" screen for beating Real Madrid? So up next was... Sevilla! Who I promptly beat twice Up next.. Liverpool! Again I was riding my luck was fully expecting to be soundly beaten. But luck appeared to be on my side again, beating them 0-2 at Anfield and then 2-1 at Krasnodar: Finals time and we were up against Borussia Dortmund, my results in the league had started to go a bit askew so I was expecting a very tough game and was not disappointed. We managed to go 2-0 up in the first 22 minutes, then they came back to 2-2 at half time. We sneaked a goal in the 64th minute and then held on with a goal being ruled disallowed in the last few minutes of normal time, to somehow manage a win at our first attempt! So with that out of the way, how did our National Hero do? Well obviously I had to make a choice of who to use, as per my transfers I managed to somehow get Gaylsh on a Bosman after he was on loan and did ok last season. Spoiler He also got the golden boot for the Champions League I was resting him a lot for the league games as I didn't want him to be too tired for the, what seemed like big Champions League games so my reserve strikers got a fair amount of game time and subsequently one of them managed to get Player of the Year and Players' Select. Spoiler I also signed this random guy on a free as my 3rd choice striker... Spoiler He took a while to get going, but once he did he was definitely a good 3rd choice. So this is how my fixtures looked over the season: Spoiler The team is now definitely looking a lot better (I could definitely do with some better quality backups and midfielders, and another GK) Spoiler And I managed to drag my Domestic Player Bias up a bit more, the game for some reason doesn't like my transfers though... And I have somehow already qualified for the next CWC... So my National Hero did ok this season which helps my score to be the following: AFC Leg Score: 76 points CONCAF Leg Score: 47 points European Leg Score: S1- 0 points European Leg Score: S2 - 14 points Total Score: 137 points Edited January 8 by geordiekrispy

Report · Posted January 12 (edited) So Season 3 in Russia. One thing I noticed is that I can be playing at home one week and it's 30º+, then play away the next week or even later that week and it can be 6º in the same country, that must really wreck your conditioning as a player. So anyway... the season... I got another lovely cheque at the start of the season: And it's always good to start the season with a European Trophy Fingers crossed Galysh stays in that form this season to make up for last season's less than stellar form in front of goal. Transfers: I didn't go crazy as I still had a few players in key positions that were planning on retiring at the end of this season so I couldn't sell them and they were taking up a chunk of wages and a squad place. So it was some replacements and youngsters with Russian being a priority. Spoiler In: Out: Future: The league was a a lot easier this season with all my strikers scoring and my wingers chipping in a fair bit too, I managed to go unbeaten in the league: I won the Kubo Rossii again too, The Champions League also started at the group stage, so I lost those first few "easy" games. Spoiler I feel like I had a fairly tough group stage: But we managed to get through it with relative ease: We had Bayern in the semi final and managed to sneak through after drawing 0-0 in the away leg: And then we were up against Barcelona in the final: You'll notice a common theme in these games, my national hero isn't scoring the goals... Fixtures: Spoiler I also picked up Manager of the Year And one of my wingers got the league Player of the Year and Players' Select Player of the Year, and one of my younger wingers got Young Player of the Year. Spoiler I'd asked to expand the stadium and was told they couldn't get planning permission and then got the wonderful news that they're going to build a new stadium for me doubling the capacity to 70,000! I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to rename this one so you'll get to see the new name next year (hopefully). @FuddledFox mark me up for another stadium please The squad is definitely looking better overall, but I feel it just needs a bit more quality to push us up to the top level for the CWC next season. So a good season overall for the team, but how did our man Galysh do? Spoiler He's definitely peaked in terms of his stats and he scored 4 in the Super Cup, so he only managed a paltry 6 goals in the Champions League this season. I have a feeling this leg's score is not going to be great... Report · Posted January 12 I managed to smash through another season over the weekend (yay for getting an electric shock at work and being sent to the doctors to get an ECG for OH&S purposes). Season 4 So no big cash injection this season, but I had a boat load of cash to spend so didn't really need it. I decided to spend a lot of it, plus I had some big offers come in for some squad players (I'm guessing being part of a Champions League winning squad helps make you look better, even if you didn't play many of the games). Transfers: Spoiler In: Gadjibekov was a very good looking central midfielder that will slot straight into the starting 11. Guenzatti is a "wonderkid" DMC/MC and Toure is a young MC/ AML you looks promising, I'll have to figure out where I'm going to play him, it'll probably depend on injuries. Yushin is a young Russian CD, and Mangala is a young French CD. Both with bags of potential. Out: Komokov was a MC that was below the standard I wanted in midfield. Deobald was a young Russian CD but not as good as I wanted. Gamble was a released player I picked up a couple of seasons ago from Liverpool I think and had bossed my midfield (in a similar way to Shelvey, that's who I had pictured in my head anyway), still had room to improve at 29 and I wanted to replace him with a Russian. Silva had played his part as 3rd choice striker but I wanted to replace him with Savin who'd been out on loan the last few seasons. So with a much stronger squad we started off brightly, winning the Superkubok Rossii But I lost the Euro Super Cup to Spurs: The League: Again we won it without losing a game (not quite as good as last year, drawing 4 compared to 2). The Cup: We won the Kunok Rossi again too. Champions League: Spoiler So we definitely had an easier group this year: But Galysh managed to get himself injured in the first group stage game: But we prevailed through the group stage and knockout rounds and then smashed Barcelona in the final: FIFA Club World Cup: It's that wonderful time when the CWC comes around again, this time falling in line with the U21 Euros, but I only lost 3 of my young Russians, compared to the 6-7 of the full Russian capped players I have (pretty much half the team at the current time). Overall, it was a relatively easy CWC for us, with Galysh grabbing two hat-tricks in the group stage and then beating Bayern Munich in the final: Awards: I got manager of the year again: My young backup winger got the Anatoly Byshovets Prize this year And my (non-Russian) winger got the Russian Player of the Year award, league Player of the Year, And my reserve striker got the Players' Select Player of the Year Fixtures: I've included the start of next season as the CWC overlapped the seasons. Spoiler National Hero: So how did Galysh do this season? Spoiler Well definitely better than last season, he managed to grab 10 goals in the Champions League he would've got more if he didn't get injured in the group stage, as he was also top scorer in the league this year. Champions League Total: CWC Total: Awards: So that gives him a total of 19 points this season (he scored in the Super Cup which is why his History screens are different). There was a couple of messages about us leaving Krasnodar this year and I got this lovely one (I've never actually been there at the time of getting a new stadium; So now we'll be playing at: The Krasnodome Scores: AFC Leg Score: 76 points CONCAF Leg Score: 47 points European Leg Score: S1- 0 points European Leg Score: S2 - 14 points European Leg Score: S3 - 6 points European Leg Score: S4 - 19 points Total Score: 162 points So with the CWC over, I have started looking toward Scotland and the final UK leg. When the CWC finished there were no jobs available. So i just started my season as normal, then I looked after the Supoerkubok Rossii game and low and behold... Question is do I go for it? I feel like going to Rangers or Celtic is a bit of a cheat mode as they're head and shoulders above the rest of the league, but they are already in the Champions League so I can start collecting points int he first season. They do have a couple of decent Scottish strikers on the books (so I may not even have to buy anyone). They're training grounds are obviously decent, but could still be improved. If I don't take the Rangers job, it may start the managerial merrry-go-round in the Scottish Premiership though.
Report · Posted January 14 So it's time to say dasvidaniya to Krasnodar (literally the day before I get to play in The Krasnodome This is how the last few fixtures looked for me: Next up, I'm heading to bonny Scotland!

Report · Posted January 14 So I applied and got the Rangers job, and came into a side that quite frankly had been dominating the Scottish league (well as much as they can do when there's only 2 main teams in the league). Here's the transfers they'd already completed in the summer: Spoiler In: Out: I did some digging through the squad and it seemed good enough, a bit light on the RB and GK and ageing slightly, but definitely good enough to build on. They'd already played the 1st game (and won 4-0) of the season. So I was definitely in the driving seat for the rest of the season. Transfers Here's the transfers I made during the season, bringing in a young striker, winger and defenders to try and edge out the older ones currently in the team. Spoiler In: Out: Scottish Premership Here's how we did in the league: Yeah we bossed it, unbeaten and breaking the 100 goal and 100 points barriers and only conceding 12 goals! I'd won the league before it had split into the championship and relegation groups. Old Firm Derby I do like a good derby so here's all the Old Firm derby results (spoiler I won them all) Spoiler Cups: We lost the Communities Cup Final, but won the Scottish Cup: Champions League: As they won the league last season they entered straight into the group stage. I came up against my USA National Hero C.J. Portillo in the first knockout leg (he's managed to make his way to Lazio) and of course he scored a brace against me. But we ended up getting past them and won the whole thing, on penalties against Chelsea. And on the plus side I somehow managed to qualify for the Club World Cup after winning the semi-final: Awards In terms of season awards, I won the manager of the month award every month since taking the job and so rightfully won the Players' and Writers' Manager of the Year awards. Spoiler My players did ok too, with them winning Players' Player of the Year, Football Writers' Player of the Year and Football Writers' Young Player of the Year. Spoiler National Hero For my national hero I decided to bring back one of my players who'd been sent out on loan from the reserves. He did... underwhelmingly ok. And I also got the dreaded message from the coaches saying that he's not going to improve any more. So I have to make a decisions, do I stick with him or change to different striker (I have a plethora to choose from) Spoiler My young striker I bought and loaned out: Or my older striker that I was tempted to use and instead sent to the reserves and out on loan: I think I'm going to give the youngster a run in the league and see how he does prior to the first Champions League games next season. Fixtures Here's the fixture list for the year: Spoiler Scores: AFC Leg Score: 76 points CONCAF Leg Score: 47 points European Leg Score: 39 points UK Leg Score: S1 - 6 points Total Score: 168 points

Good luck at Rangers Yeah the stadium was called Krasnodor, it was really confusing. I was gutted when Rangers offered me the job, literally the day before we played our first game at the new stadium.
