So it begins...

My first order of business was to keep Son happy. I wanted to make sure I didn't have an unhappy Son halfway through the season.

Thanks!! It is a variation on the setup in the defenderless challenge I did.  The Sweeper prevents the silly bombs over the top!!

Final League Table

The second half of the season was very brutal. I did not have the squad prepared for so many games across that many competitions. It was disappointing to not get any hardware on a season that looked promising at times.

There were actually a lot more low scoring draws than I expected for this setup. Though I feel like the squad lacked the playmaking midfield that it really needed. That is something that will need to be addressed in season 2.

PS: After reading other challenges I've realized that I need to lower Son and Kane's training so they can play in every game. I was really curious how others were able to get this done. So hopefully that means I can improve even more over these season 1 results!!

Dele Alli had lost his place once I started to strengthen the team. It felt like the right time to move him for $50M. Sevilla came in with a big offer for Bergwijn and he wasn't a big enough contributor to keep. So those 2 moves freed up more cash

Incoming Transfers

The goal was to shore up the midfield and bring in more creativity. I think these moves should provide for a solid team. I brought in a few loans to help shore up the depth.

 

Question: Can someone explain why I am having this issue with the squad?

So the team report says, "Fantastic depth in almost every key position." My Squad Depth screen looks good...

But the players are saying they are concerned that the squad lacks depth?? This doesn't make sense...

Season 2 Complete!!

So how did the season fare??

Just a few more goals than last season tbh. However this time 84 pts was enough to win the league.

Won the Carabao Cup and came up just short in the FA Cup and Champions League

Kane Results

Son had nearly identical stats, a few more assists and a few less goals. Kane just couldn't quite match the output of his season 1.

The tactics needs to be tweaked a bit, but overall pretty solid results.
