Help Tactic Not As Effective As It Was In FM20 and older versions

So I Have Been Using 4-1-2-2-1 Formation Alot And It Is My Most Used Formation In Every FM Probably 

And This Is How I Set Up 4-1-2-2-1 On My Every Save 

                  CF

IF.                                W.  

        CM.            AP. 

                 DM. 

WB.    CD.         CD.   WB

                   GK 

This Is It But Sometimes I Used FB Over WB and sometimes changed Striker Role Depending On The Striker Like Poacher, Target man , Af or DLF 

And The Tactic Still Worked Really Well With Pretty Much Any Team I used 

Instructions were simple narrow or balanced  tempo normal or fast expressive freedom normal or expressive 

High Line And Pressing I Always Went For Throught Balls Or Run At Defence Shoot On Sight Or Work Into Box And Look For Overlap The Tactic Was Working Insanely Well And Could Easily Score Over 100 Goals A Season The Inside Forward Was Top Scorer Most of The Time With 40+ Goals A Season But Striker Was Second With 30+ Goals A Season I Was Getting Fairly Good Amount Of Possession And I Was Creating A Lot High Quality Chances I Was Using Big Clubs Most Of The Time But It Worked With Mediocre clubs aswell But This Year Results Are Really Not Great With Less Goals and Less Chanced Every Single Game 

I Want To Know If I Could Change And Tweak The Tactic To Make This Work Better 

Before You Comment Anything I Wanna Note That I Have The Right Players And All Of Them Are World Class So I Don't Know Why This Doesn't Work anymore

Hi mate, that’s a weird one, because I’ve had a formation like that work, but I had two inside forwards, I had DLP in DM. I rather a BBM instead of a CM, create more offensively. You could also move the DM up to central midfield.
 

Attacking, narrow, normal speed and expressive is usually my go to, but if you’ve got world class players maybe put the freedom to expressive. 
 

I only ever put closing all over on, sometime I leave that as in own half as well, I don’t tend to change the rest.

With the attacking options, because you have inside forwards, I would go shoot on sight and leave the other two off, I like having less in there.

I’ve found mixed passing this year works really well compared to last year, I usually always have it short. But if I find a tactic isn’t creating enough, I’ve changed to mixed especially with good players, there more than capable of picking the right passes.

Ye but last year I found the cm ap and DM combo really good and when I changed to DLP or BBM I was not getting the same results 

And I use 1 Inside forward because when there is winger on the wing he moves next to the striker and usually striker is pushed bit left or right depending where I put my inside forward and last year it worked amazingly and inside forward was just unstoppable

And I Use CM Over BBM because I Usually Play An Advanced Playmaker In That Role Because He Tries Risky Passes A Lot And Is Well Rounded 

And Also I Like Double Pivot Like CM Staying And Holding His Position And Ap Moving Up And Centrally And DM Sometimes Going Up And Turning Into 4-2-3-1  I don't Know Hot To Fix This

But In FM20 There Were Teams Who Played 5 a back formations against me and I could destroy Them 4-0 5-0 That Tactic Was Unbeatable And I Have Played Against Many Different Formations And No One Could Actually Stop It From Scoring Even After 5-7 Seasons The Tactic Was Absolutely Amazing

Sorry I’m not really a 4-3-3 guy but probably use BBM instead of CM. I always use narrow, normal and balanced. Deep Line and closing down All Over. The attacking I think shoot on sight, short passing would do good

CM Is Good Tho With Run At Defence He Will Dribble More Like BBM And Aswell He Makes a risky passes pretty often cuz I play a well rounded playmaker there BBM Doesn't Still Doesn't Give Me Great Results

This is just my opinion but I hate 4-3-3 never really get it to work well. I tend to use 3 defenders with a Libero at the middle
