Help Isn't higher goal difference better?

Recommended Posts

I started playing a Chelsea career mode recently and in the champions league group stage, I tied with Bayern in points scored so that means that goal difference is used then. but I got higher goal difference and still second in the group which means i have higher chance of facing tougher opponents in the knockout stage yet i should be first in the group. is this a bug or am I missing something here?1649917774_Screenshot_20210102-0945062.thumb.png.923f4b493e49c6691e613e1e618fbae9.png

In the CL it is based on your H2H record with the other team then if thats tied it goes to GD.

what does h2h record mean? I beat them at home 3-2 but lost away 2-0

Put it on aggregate. You won 3-2 and lost 2-0 that would be 5-3 on aggregate they got a higher total

If you select the "burger menu" in the top-right, one of the options is Rules, and in Competition Rules it usually explains how teams are separated if they're level. EPL/EFL use GD, but La Liga and Champions League use Head-to-head, so it's good to check :)
