Your new tricks seem to have made an impact, which is handy going forward. If there's any danger of a slight stall then at least there's a plan B. 

You look on course at the moment. Avoiding major injuries is a must, as always but I have every faith in this being successful. Keep it up, sir. 👍

Actually Badji was better than Esposito for much of this season so maybe I should cut him some slack - but then Esposito powered home. If he'd had that form all year he would have been further ahead. I'll have to rotate them a bit through the roles ad give them all a turn at the higher scoring positions. 

Yeah, I think I'm cleverer at knowing when plan A isn't working and switch to a pretty decent plan B. Not a huge amount of difference, but enough extra goals to make it worthwhile.

I'm generally lucky with the injuries as Esposito and Badji are both "Very rarely injured" and I rest them a lot (any time "Slightly tired" comes up and then some).

Thanks mate. Yeah, it was pretty good. It's an amazing feeling seeing all these goals go in. And the boys aren't at their peak yet. It's definitely a blast in China. That said, you do get bored with it after a while. Yes, please bring back Luzzi! 😄

Thanks guys! The numbers are astounding. It's a combination of a very very strong squad in a very very weak league, which a crazy tactic that shouldn't work, but does. And the strikers I'm using are guranteed to work - well not Pellegri anymore, unless you are on one of the very first versions of this year (which I used when starting this save).

Thanks mate, we're certainly not too bad for this league. I couldn't sign people like Varane, Barella, etc, but I got a few who aren't far off that and now the next gen are coming through - and some of them are shaping up even better. It really is a total mismatch...

Highlights:

• We finally sold Amiri after year of trying.
• We lost Nubel after accepting an offer, planning to say No when asked to confirm the transfer, and the game never asked, just immediately transferred him! It's only the 2nd time that's happened to me and I've done this hundreds and hundreds of times.
• We panic bought 3 right backs when all three right backs in our squad went down with injury at the same time.
• And Vlahovic on a Bosman was too good to pass up.

We won everything again this year and scored 176 goals in the league (down 3 on last year):

Pellegri was out for 3 weeks, missing the start of the season. Badji missed 10 days, then later on missed a few more days.

A good season, but a little down on the previous one.

Pellegri is still leading the way. Esposito is behind, but I feel he can probably catch up, and I recently moved him to the more prolific right TM. Badji is still the worry - if he doesn't pick up the pace this will have to go to 18 seasons minimum and risk retirements etc. I moved him to penalties recently, but so far he's scored 1 out of 6, so I'm not sure I'll stick with it.

Anyway, there's always next season.

Yeah, it's fun. I'm thinking about a 1 up front career though and bit worried I'll miss the goals too much... Dilemma!

A lot of players are approaching the 29/30 year old mark now, so I've started phasing out the older ones in favour of our up and coming youngsters. Cook and Thorsby left, there are a few more I'd like to shift but can't, and there will be more I'll be looking to move in the next season or two.

Everyone had injuries this year: Pellegri for 2 weeks, then again for 10 days; Badji for 3 weeks; then Esposito for 2 weeks.

Well, we finally got Badji into gear! I left him on penalties and he was much better this year (converted about 70% compared with about 20% last season, no idea why). Also, I switched to the Balanced, Pressing, Runs With Ball option more often, which sees more goals going to the central T (Badji).

Of course the trade off is less goals for the other two. Still, I'm happy. 180+ goals in a season where they all had at least some time out with injuries is pretty good.

Will they make it? If we accept that 60 goals each per season is about the max, then 10 more seasons will gets us almost to the line. Of course they will be 35/36 by then, so we have to expect they will slow down, so we could be looking at 12 or 13 more seasons. If they don't retire! So it could be tight - but that's for the future.

Injuries

Badji had two injuries, first missing 3 weeks, then missing a few more days. Pellegri also had two injuries, first missing 10 days, then the last 2 weeks of the season.

Probably worth mentioning Esposito and Pellegri both missed 5 games because they were away with Italy at the Euros.

Worth noting this was a season of two halves: Badji owned the first half, with 48 goals in 23 games, before tailing off; Esposito then stepped up in the second half with 35 goal in 12 games.

Badji was so far out front at the halfway mark that I took penalties off him and gave them to Esposito. By the end of the season, I'd given them back to Badji because he just stopped scoring goals. But the shift was much more than penalties and I don't really understand it.

Meanwhile Pellegri had fairly average season, playing the whole season in the left TM role that generally gets less goals. That suited me this season, as he'd been so far in front, but he'll soon be overtaken, so I'll have to juggle things sometime soon.

That's a big, thick couple of seasons! I see the same thing with some theoretically equal positions getting far more chances or touches on my current tactic, where play goes down the right about 70% of the time, despite the playmaker roles being left of center. 

FWIW a right footed poacher in the left CF spot has done very well for me, maybe try P-T-TM as the combo?

Thanks mate. My tactics almost always end up with more play and crosses and assists and goals on the right hand side. Not always, but most of the time. I really don't know why. 

Thanks for the advice - I might try a P at some point. I was thinking about a DLF as well. It's an area I might experiment with. For now though, with the new season, I have Esposito on the right for one squad selection and Pellegri there for the other squad selection, so will rotate that way.
