Career Scratch Tries The 3x1KC [Season 19 - The Finale]

Very great season there. It is so strange that you often get your right side striker scoring more. In almost all my careers with 2/3 strikers, the left hand side often scores the most. In TTR, a few VPL careers, Augusta and even my earlier TT.

Yeah, it's strange, I really don't know why it happens to me. Maybe because I'm right handed? 😄

Haha, could be that. Or... the way we hold our phones. Or maybe because I'm in the southern hemisphere and you're (just) in the northern hemisphere?

Season 9

More of the same. Again.

Having to really phase out many of the original players now. Sold Wijndal, Lainez, De Sciglio and even Onguene. Couldn't move Oscar, Daniel James, Tomori so they all became bit players. I've had to to keep (Columbian) Suarez even though he's past it, because he's a Team Leader who brings a bunch of green influence.

We won everything again this year, scoring 177 goals in the league (2 down on our best):

We also won the Club World Championship, blowing Dortmund away (8-0), squeezing past Man City (3-2), putting Juve in their place (5-1), before beating Real Madrid in the Final (5-2).

A good season all round and we've made it to the halfway mark!

 

Final Thoughts

Can we make it to the target? Well, at a minimum, we need another 9 seasons, which will make them 36 (Esposito, Badji) or 37 (Pellegri). Realistically, they will slow down near the end, meaning we could be looking at them pushing 40.

I don't know what player degradation or retirements are like in this year's version, but I have to say I'm pretty skeptical about our chances. It was always going to be really tough, but maybe I bit off more than I can chew this time (wouldn't be the first).

Season 10

Ploughed right through this season. Spoiler: team performance down a little (less overall goals scored) due to rebuilding, but biggest season yet for the lads.

Finally moved Daniel James and Oscar on, although unfortunately it was to our biggest competitors. More to follow next season, as I phased out Livakovic, Suarez, Tomori, etc this season.

Injuries

Pellegri suffered the most this year, which makes sense as he's the only one who's not 'very rarely injured'. He had a month long injury in the middle of the season and a 2 month injury near the end of the season (although only missed 4 games). Esposito also had a 10 day injury.

The lads scored 200 goals combined this season, which is a record. They are all in their prime! But it won't be long before the long downward spiral begins...

 

A Hiccup

I managed to sign the other two to brand new 5 year contracts, but Pellegri won't play ball:

So this could all be over after 3 more seasons. Mind you Esposito spent most of the season with the same response, but eventually decided to negotiate. So... 🤞

 

Final Thoughts

Starting to have real doubts now. I'm not sure I'll be able to sign Pellegri up for the duration and even if I do, they will drop off the cliff too quickly. If I could freeze them like this for the next 8 seasons, I'd have a chance, but I'm expecting them to fade quickly after a few seasons. But I'll see how close I can get.

This was always going to be close. I'm still hopeful of the "miracle" but the realist in me is saying it'll probably be just out of reach. If Esposito caved and signed a new deal then I think Pellegri will too. As always, I'm rooting for you, man. 🤞

Thanks mate. Yeah, it was always going to be a bit of a long shot, but I thought I'd go close. If I could have got them to 10 seasons of 70 goals each, it would have been on, but it looks like 60 each is about the average and it won't quite be enough. Still they've started the next season fantastically (11 goals to the lads in one game), so fingers crossed and we'll see where we end up. Hoping to get 800 each at least, then push on from there.

Thanks mate. Gonna be tough just in terms of getting the numbers even if Pellegri does stay. In terms of his contract, I've had players sign the day before their contract expires, so there's always hope, but we're only a 4 star club and I can't seem to increase it above that, so there's no guarantee he'll be convinced by that.

That’s some great numbers from all three but I can see why you have some doubts as they still need a lot of goals and they aren’t getting any younger. That said if you can pin them all down to contracts they should be able to keep smashing goals in China for a lot longer yet so this is far from over IMO.

Thanks mate. Just finished Season 11 and the numbers were even more insane (they are all 29-30, which seems to be in the sweetspot), but even that probably won't be enough unless I get lucky with going long. It'll probably need us to keep going until they are 37/38 or even older. If I can keep extending their contracts, talk them out of retirement when necessary, and they get minimal injuries, then maybe. But it's a long shot. My biggest worry is the whole injury / degradation thing this year. But anyway, I'll push the lads and see how far they can go...
