Wow, never thought i would get so many responses. Thanks to all for viewing and joining in the fun. Now is the time to give a proper intro.

Intro

As predicted by @Ian, he completed this last year and from then on, it has been ingrained in my mind and i was looking at attempting the same myself. 

So, the plan is to complete the The DT Challenge using Inside Forwards.

Of course, chosen club is Porto in Portugal as i had completed a normal DT with Sporting Lisbon in 2019 and another long career with Benfica in 2020 so it had to be the last of the big three.

Monarch 1

A name which came up on almost everyone's lips and a man who i liked pretty much. I topped the Race to 100 leaderboard in both goals and assists with this man in 2020. So, here is him:

Rayan Cherki. He develops pretty fast from what i have seen in previous edition so he should lead the charge in couple years of time.

 

Monarch 2

A lad which i have not come across before and it was only predicted by @Ian so kudos to him. He has attributes in all the right places so should be a handy companion to Cherki.

 

So, i would play them both all times in the FL and FR positions:

Loved FCP. Completed my first 1k there last year. Interested to see how Chekri would do for you I haven’t got to make him a good player. The other guy looks nice too despite the stamina. Good luck

Good luck mate! Nice choice of players. Cherki is one I've almost tried a bunch of times, but never actually did, so keen to see how he goes. Hadn't really heard of Efekele, but he looks pretty good! Tough challenge, but I think you'll do it!

Nice to get two predictions correct 😂

It’ll be interesting to see how Efekele turns out actually as I know nothing much about him. It’s those horrible reds in the physicals that really puts you off but no doubt they’ll increase to reasonable levels.

Ok, we start our perilous journey in this career.

Season 1

•  We only had one quality wingback in the team in Wilson Manafa so we needed another. Brenet has always been my go to guy in WB   whenever i play lesser leagues so he is brought in.
• Darder has become one of my favorites in 2021 after his performance in my Bruno career so he was a sure signing in midfield as CM.
• Patricio slots in straight as the first choice goalie after he was recommended by my scouts
• Gray and Bebou became my two main WM's after their names popped up while searching for players by role (which is a great addition to this year's game). Gray i have used before but Bebou was complete unknown but he was brilliant throughout the season.

 

Season History

We won everything but exited in the CL rather meekly in the round of 16 to Dynamo Kiev.

Of course, the goals should increase as my tactics start taking shape.

Ekefele and Cherki lit up the cups except for the Super Cup when they were still finding their footing.

Now this is a big surprise. Cherki came close to hattrick on many occasions but never managed it while Efekele, the weaker one managed two in the season. I was pleasantly surprised.

Cherki snapped up all the Golden Boots while we had 5 players in Team of the Year.

He is developing at a good pace with his movement rising substantially.

In a league where things will pick up 3/4 seasons in as your players really develop out outstrip the opposition I would say that is a great start.

They missed quite a few games due to their conditioning but when they played, they were in for the full match. My tactic is still pretty much a work in progress but this is what I sticked to most:

Playing both the guys in the forward line and driving the play through both flanks.

• Manafa wanted out so i brought in another favorite of mine in Krepin Diatta. A very versatile player who can play in any wing position on either side.
• Anderson finished his loan and went back to West Ham so we needed a permanent solution and in comes Enis Bardhi who was brilliant in the AP position while Ntcham was signed looking into the future.
• Saint Maximin was signed as a backup in the WM to Gray and Bebou
• Vallejo and Elvedi slotted in as BPD as Pepe was 38 yrs old now and we don't have any other decent defenders.

 

Season History

CL was a disaster and we lost in the League Cup final to SLB but won everything else.

Cherki stepped up this season with 2 hattricks and a fiver but he was pretty inconsistent while Ekefele struggled with just one hattrick. He also got injured for a month.

A very nice second season and these goals are almost like bonus goals with them being so young. Cherki looks like he could be the main man but Efekele looks like he’s going to develop well and he’ll be all blue for the physicals very soon it would seem. The system I used for this last year was built around the two having great pace and movement. I did most of my testing with Mane and Salah who were both practically maxed out in both and the amount of goals I’d get with a midfielder playing a through ball into the penalty area between the centre backs and one of the two making a quick run in to score was quite ridiculous. I remember it failed a bit against three are the back as there was a defender there to prevent it and I could never quite get that going as much with the two Brazilians and I think it was due to them not quite having enough pace.

Great season again Kane. Chekri looks very solid already. Somewhere around 60 would come easily in 1 or 2 seasons

Ntcham transfer is interesting, he’s about 24/25 at the start of the game. I don’t think he’ll be that much good considering it’s very easy to sign regens in Portugal and from my experience, youth intakes are quite good too. Perhaps he’ll be a deadwood for you instead of for the future 😂

The WM -WB combo works well in terms of putting the balls to the front two but yes, their pace is a factor which is why they lose half of the passes put through them.

ASM is a decent backup at that price as the transfer budget is not big on Porto.

Ntcham had performed admirably for me in the past editions so I went with that in mind. Don't know if he is shit this time around.

I don’t think he’s shit but he’s got less room to grow. Probably would be a decent backup for 1 or 2 seasons

• Skov was our most expensive buy as he slotted in as another option to Gray and Bebou in WM along with ASM.
• Aina and Meret came on to add depth in our goalie and WB positions. Meret would definitely feature more going forward as Rui Patricio is getting older.
• Perez, Munir and Hughes were freebies who i liked so signed them up.

We got some good news. France went out in the 1st round of 2022 World Cup which was eventually won by Belgium.

And i got the job.

Both looked like this when i got the job:

Cherki has already made his international debut and had 1 goal while Efekele had yet to make his appearance.

We lost in the Semi-final and 3rd place playoff to Spain and Belgium respectively.

Efekele was very inconsistent and underwhelming and was pain in the ass in negotiations. He increased his wages continuously while Cherki was happy to sign on the wages that he was offered on the first proposal. He notched up his 1st international goal though.
