Career Dai's "Badge 07" attempt. Rooney's Derby days

🎵 He's fat, he's scouse, he'll rob your f***ing house, Wayne Rooney! 🎵

I wasn't going to bother posting this attempt and was going straight into starting it again but the overall score changed my mind. Rooney was pretty pants himself but the team performance saved my bacon. I have always said I love managing in the lower League's and the Championship. 😊 

 

The Challenge:

 

 

 

Rooney at the start:

 

Transfers:

Signed players to fit a new system I was testing. Really happy with some of the players, others were a bit of a risk but ended up being OK.

 

Cup Competitions:

Great start in the Carabao Cup. Beat Harrowgate in the first round. Then;

Then we met our match;

 

FA Cup run wasn't anything special either. Lost AET;

 

League Campaign:

Smashed the League. The one loss coming by way of a 93rd minute own goal, away to Watford. 😑

 

Rooney at the end:

By my calculations;

Goals & Assists = 36

League points = 123

Total Score = 159

 

 

I enjoyed this challenge because I enjoy the Championship. Plus, using a new formation with new instructions was interesting. I also found it infuriating. All but 1 of Rooney's goals came before January. After that, despite no change in role or team style he just stopped scoring. Missed 7 penalties between January & May too. His assists were the shining light & those stats aren't anything special. My corner tactic came good, thankfully.

The only reason we won so many games was because I substituted Rooney 60 minutes into EVERY game, then his replacement would usually win the matches for me. 😂

 

I'm delighted to score more than @RichD in a challenge, for once but I know this will inspire you to do it all over again. 😂

Well done mate, great score. I feel your pain when it comes to players just stopping scoring after January. It can be so frustrating.

Yeah, but same as previous badges, I really thought I could get more out of the player.

Great job mate. Hard to know what's good for Rooney, so that might be pretty great in it's own right, but anyway, you smashed the team part regardless.

🤣 Saivet's teamwork & stamina were the best I could get with the limited budget. Mainly cover for Wilshere as he's quite injury prone. He wasn't too bad I the end.

I look forward to them. Gives me a break from my rigorous testing of systems, players and team to use for my 1kc attempt.

Also, apart from my multiple attempts at the Kane & Son badge, I've done them all on the first attempt.
