And so it begins... 

The start of this challenge sees me take control of one of my favorite clubs in the game. I haven't looked into clubs en route yet but I may stay here a while depending how things go. I've chosen 2 of my players, and had the third lined up before they got injured. Unfortunately I won't be able to get them to the club before the first game kicks off so I'm on the hunt for our third man. I'll post as soon as the wheelin' and dealin' is settled.

Just finished my first season, pleased with how many 'miles' I got, could of always got more though!

Chris' Ajax Player Update

Drumroll please... 

I felt bad for not giving Antony the love he deserved on another Ajax save of mine for a 1KC. He wasn't a natural striker but seems to have stats in the right places and trained to the role within days. And it's a bonus to already have him at the club... 

A man I know a lot of you are probably well aware of. He was a beast last year, and I hope for more of the same this year, and cheap enough too. I'm thinking he will be providing us with most of our miles. 

We said goodbye to David Neres to welcome in our third and final player. I was toying with the idea of using David but he was just too similar to Antony in the end. Didn't want 2 left footers playing either side of our Target Man. 

Got high hopes for all of these lads.

As the registrations are closed now, we are 9 players that will "fight" on the map of Europe. 

Even that it's just first day we already know 6 points of start, 5 being in South Europe and one all the way up to Holland and already 3 people have sent their results... well 2, as one is me, so I didn't sent to me 🤣

@Jsavfc got all the way on the Atlantic Ocean with the big boys team/small boys league - FC Porto (Portugal).

Me and @TheBluePrince started our journey from Spain. Prince went on to chose Sevilla FC and I went for a second league team, Real Zaragoza.

@hhooo will start in Northern Italy with Atalanta BC and @Albionicwill go from Roma. And at this point I was wondering if someone will start from the North of Europe and the answer came in quick with @Chris choosing AFC Ajax as his starting point. In the next few days I hope we can find out the starting point for @Kanegan, @broodje kip and @geordiekrispy.

 

 

FYI, on how the map is constructed each route will have, 100%, France in it (pass trough, start or finish) so be sure France will be a hard ground to cover!

Just wanted to let everyone know it all went a bit crazy here in the last 48 hours. Western Aus went into lockdown with 4 hours notice and now there's a rather large bushfire happening "semi" close to me.
Plus my youngest decided this is the perfect time to have a high temperature.
I've got my starting point and 2 of my 3 players, just sorting out everything else...

Ok, I managed to grab some screenshots whilst on a "coffee break" (I'm WFH and the rest of the family is currently watching Cars).

So I was given the enviable task of starting at FC Copenhagen... I've never managed in the Danish league, so it'll be interesting.

For all that we came second last season I had nothing to play with in terms of transfer budget, so it was free transfers bolstered by any money I could get from selling my ageing squad, that seemed to like left backs and forwards, but nothing in the middle or right half of the pitch...

 

My chosen three are:

A wonderkid striker already on the books at the club, well it'd be rude not to use him.

Hopefully I can get his shooting and aerial up a bit.

 

I picked up Fortune on a free as my other striker, nice and fast with decent shooting.

 

Fischer was already at the club and should be good as an IF on the left, just need his crossing to improve.

There are so small that it would look like a dot. Luxembourg is 5 times bigger than Andorra and 40 times bigger than San Marino, just put that into perspective and you will understand how small they will look on the map.

Also, FC Andorra is a good-ish team from the Spanish 3rd division so in the future it can promote and the job would be available so that land is available for the route.

I never thought that Denmark is an economic powerhouse but to get nothing for the transfers from thei wealthiest club in the country is... weird, maybe is from COVID? 

I reccon there is a flip side to it and the league will be pretty easy and there are some good clubs in Northern part of Germany to make a quick move if you need to. Good luck!!

This might be slower going than I thought, Barrentxea has been dreadful so far, averaging a 6.5 across the first half of the season, and is always jaded after 4-5 starts

My players missed games because of the international break, second division fixtures don't take into account that so everytime they went to play for the national team they will lose one or two games....

As I was looking for the distances I realised that going by car is not the best way to do it as Google Maps will show you the fastest route so you can stay and make adjustments to the trip to get a shorter one between clubs... And that will take time and some people will have it and other won't, some people will know how to make adjustment and some other not.

This game is about FMM, not Google Maps so please use walking when you do your trips between clubs as this will give you the optimal route to get always the shortest trip. I now understand why @Mr Treeis using it this way.
