Guys, I am really struggling to get time to play as of late with rl getting in the way... I'm still going to try and follow through on this challenge, but it might be taking me a little longer. I may well decide to stop playing altogether for a while if things keep going the way they are.

It's alright, you aren't alone in struggling to find time. My life is a bit of a blur until Saturday as well. I'm only in January on the season right now. 

Speaking of which, when is the deadline for this week? I think I should be fine, but I want to double check.

Cheers lads. Nothing wrong really, things are going well. Just alot of busy days at work, and going abroad for a few months soon and finding it a little stressful not having much time to myself between work and family life 😂 not even started my season yet!

So, as you all know I stayed at Madrid for another season, despite already being there for 3 years, meaning goals didn't count any more. I had just over the amount of miles needed for the Barcelona job, it was just a case of if it came available, and more importantly, if I would get it. 

Well, we have moved in November &  I now have an answer to all of them questions......

The job was insecure at the end of October, they had a terrible start to the season and ended up just outside the European places. 

A few weeks later.....

WE GOT THE BLOODY JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!! My risk payed off, or did it?!

The squad is awful. Only like 1 decent striker (Fati) the rest are mid-table at best. I wanted to ask the question, if @George Traistă and the rest of you guys allowed it, to allow me to wait untill January to sign the players I want, obviously any goals scored between now and then will not count, and I am happy to withdraw from the bonus for this year if that helps 😂

Just for the record, and if it interest anyone, this is the league table & past few fixtures when I took the job, 

Confirmation of my miles; 

If it is not allowed to wait for the transfer window, I will of course pick 3 players already at the club. Where do we stand if we pick players that are retiring at the end of the season? Maybe a cheeky loophole there for me ha!

@JamesVer you must pick the 3 players before your first official game so sorry, not waiting until July-August.

But, you can chose some players that will retire and then you will change them when they will retire. I did like this in Girona. It happened that the best scorer for that team was retiring at the end of the season so naturally I picked him as one of my players. 

 

P.S. Congrats on the Job, I didn't think it will show up!

That's the trade of when you move mid season, you must pick players that are already in the squad.

You can pick two that will retire at the end of the season of you want and got

Player Picks; 

One is quite obvious; 

Second one is another Barca wonder-kid; 

As you can see Fati already has 3 goals & Pedri has 4 so will take them off my total come the end of the season. 

My third choice is a complete waste of time to be completely honest. There is literally no-one else of any real quality in an attacking sense at the club. I had already released 2 players who were retiring at the end of the season to free up wages for January, and was left with just one player who is planning to retire, so he will have to do. Seriously though, I doubt he will even play a game for the club 😂

Yes I have picked a goalkeeper as my third player. If he decides not to retire, I am royally screwed. On his personal page it does say that is his plan for the end of season, so only 6 months or so of him being a 'miler' 😂

I didn't even check the squad before taking the job I just knew it had to accept. 

There is like 15 DM/MCs, its hilarious. Going to be a busy January i reckon.

I remember they don't have the offer contract on players who will retire.

Weird, every time I had a player that will retire I didn't have the option to get him a new contract.

I would say end of his contract, in my experience that’s what happens for me, could be different any player though? 🤔

I think he wants to retire but he didn't make the official announcement and that's why you still have a offer contract button.

Yeah that keeper is sending mixed signals - but pick someone with a low buyout clause and if they play well you can get bids for them. That has worked for me in the past.

I personally think that when anyone goes to any club they have to pick 3 outfield players, I love what @JamesVilla has gone for and is always a good thinker, but I think as it’s attacking players it should be outfield players.

Okay. So if its okay with everyone, my third choice will now be;

Only 22, got a min release fee of 21m, although I just offered a contract where I got it down to 16m. So hopefully he can improve abit and get some attention.
