Fun/Games Goal-a-Mile: Ticket to Ride - Europe (COMPLETED)

Ok my predictions for this season are:

@George Traistă - Will end up with the second least miles this season.

@JamesVilla - 120 miles and Highest Win Margin and a clean sweep in terms of trophies and get Least Goals Conceded.

@Chris - Highest Transfer Fee Received and 2nd place in terms of goals scored.

@Kanegan - Will not win the league, but win the cup.

@Albionic - Will win the league and have success in Europe.

@hhooo - Will have a solid 90 miles with a cup win but not the league.

Quick question guys, if I'm going to move clubs do the miles I've got so far this season count? And what about the bonus, I'm guessing each goal by a CB will count as 2 goals?

Yes, the miles you got so far will count, you will use it to travel to your next club. After you take a new job, your miles will get back to 0.

Each goal scored by a CB is one goal aka one mile.

Thanks for clearing that up. 

Doesn't seem to be much incentive to try and get your CBs to score in my opinion as its going to be goals taken from your main 3...

I'm on the moooove. Regret it already but here goes 😂

I should be happy with getting a semi-decent club on my move, but I'm not 😂 I've wasted 129 miles moving here, pretty much meaning my Season 2 was pointless. I was waiting on a job at Paris FC, but I was 9 miles short and the World Cup meant I didn't have any games for a month. This would have meant much less wasted miles. Cheers FM! 

Anyway, I join the club with 2 days to the first match.

Not enough time to bring in some new players, so here is what I'll be going with:

Fairly happy with some of these players, but I am very worried about the lack of Aerial 😂 Checked my transfers and I was hoping to bring in Mitrovic for this, but just don't have enough time so meh. 

Not doing too bad in the league really, sitting in 9th place. Only 14 points behind first position with plenty of games remaining, and with a not-to-shabby transfer budget to okay with I'll be aiming high!

This is/was my fear.

I'd built an awesome squad at Copenhagen, but due to the Danish valuation of players being... let's called it conservative. I was losing my best players to other teams, not even big ones, just other teams around Europe. So I had to move to a bigger league/club.

I'm probably one of the few people who's happy with their move. I look forward to being able to build on my handful of games I had at the end of the season and then push on to greater things (and smaller leagues so I can smash the other teams and get loads of miles!)

Given the obnoxious infrequency of clubs in southern France, I have decided to make a miserable move because it could be years before another job pops up, and this was only 26 miles wasted. I'm going to Grenoble, who have been in a relegation scrap in Ligue 2 since the beginning of the season, but did me the courtesy of waiting nearly three full weeks after my job application to offer me the position, so we had a game the very next day, and 3 days left in the window when this arrived on the 27th:

We had around 275 miles by the time the job opened up, and  only needed 249. And our league position was pretty dire, but not hopeless.

Now - the squad was absolutely terrible, and enormous. Fully 40 players in the first team, including 6 loans of garbage players from other teams youth academies, and 7 people who are planning to retire at the end of their contracts. It's a mess. I knew this coming in, of course, and was able to slip a few guys from Atalanta out the back door with me when I left, and kept a few contracts deliberately unrenewed.

We did manage to sign 7 players in one day before our first game, which has to be a record for efficiency (thank god for no work permit bs), two of whom will be our mile-obtainers, alongside one player who was already there.

Kris was already there, and will be playing as an IF in our strikerless counterattacking system.

James will also play as an IF, and you'll notice that pace is really the only thing these guys have going for them. Crossing our fingers that's enough.

And here's someone we released before moving, only to pick him up the same day further down the road. He has a release fee, so he might leave us soon. He looks a weird choice, but he's a dead ball specialist, and he's also fast.

 

This feels horrible after having brought in De Ligt, Kimmich, TAA, McTominay, Partey, Theo Hernandez, and Onana 6 months ago! Bad luck everyone!

Fingers crossed you can keep them safe from relegation and build on it over the summer.

 

I have a feeling there's going to be some crossed paths in France soon!

Hand down you got the hardest job off all right now, my job in Girona is extra easy compared to yours. Good use of miles and right now you take the lead of the "longest journey" bonus!

I know after 3 years goals don't count as miles, but can we still earn miles from Richs bonus? @George Traistă

Only if the bonus is not related to scoring goals. 

Example: have a GD of +75 and you get x miles. Win all the trophies at stake and you get x miles. Etc.

Fab. Im gonna have to see if @Rich is going to be nice to me next season before moving. Reckon im gonna be around 20/30 miles short of my target for the club i want.

Again, @Albionicasked me a good question a D I want to give the answer to all as it may be useful.

I looked at my map, and am I allowed to go through other countries which are not playable (eg Switzerland)?

 

Answear: No, not allowed to go through countries that are not playable in the game. You are allowed to travel through Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark and Poland.

You CAN travel from Germany to France through  Belgium (or Holland) even if you don't have Belgium loaded. (maybe usefull for @geordiekrispy at the moment) 

You CAN'T travel through Luxembourg as this is not playable in the game. 

You CAN travel through Andorra because FC Andorra play in Spain, therefore I will consider Andorra as a whole part of Spain (maybe usefull for @JamesVilla and @TheBluePrince at the moment).

When we started this I gave Rich a list of 20+ bonus ideas and maybe 1/3 were not related to goals... The bonuses used until now are not from that list 😂  But is very easy to play mind games on Rich so take your chance... or bribe him 😂😂😂
