Cheers. I've looked into it a little and the stats of some of the opposing centre backs aren't that bad. Some are even good. It's really strange. No way should 11 aerial be so effective. I'd understand the odd few due to his movement but that's it.

Managed to blitz through another season. Days off are great. 😁 It was an interesting one.

 

Transfers:

I'm happy with the squad so no real incomings other than Cooper & Eardley. Two really promising Welsh youngsters. Need to integrate them early or loan them out for them to improve for my Wales squad. Also, it says I signed Leroy Sane on a free. I didn't. Must be a bug. I tried numerous times but he wanted more than the board were willing to offer. I have 3/4 really good left wingers anyway and he signed a new deal with Bayern. 🤔

Won everything domestically, again. Only losing 1-0 to Barca in the Club World Championship is encouraging. Thats two narrow defeats against massive teams in this competition in the past 5 seasons.

I've used quite a few of the Welsh players before but always further into careers so it's nice to use them all at once and develop them all myself. Well, as much as I can in China. Cheers, bud.

I know. Only 110. 🙄 Thats why I'm not bothered if people slate me for coming to China. He was 21 at the start. A good 5 years older than a player I'd usually start with and he's hardly developed at all really so I'm pretty pleased with myself. It's an easy league but I'm getting great numbers out of an average looking player at the end of the day. Cheers, man.

Going great mate, those are a really high numbers, and he's going to get 100 in the next season or two without doubt. Shame he hasn't developed any better because he would absolutely slaughter the competition - if only he was the same player he was in FMM a year or two ago! and steam you put together is top-notch too for China. Gonna be massive!

Thanks. Yeah, the amounts of money available in China is nuts really. I'm resisting the urge to just go mad and sign every top player I can to stick to my own system. Its working, so why change it? My first team is all Welsh, apart from Felix but his backup is Welsh.

Have you and @Rich noticed that you don't need as big of a squad in China? I'm hardly ever needing to really rotate the squad, even from season 1. I know there's less games but I have so many players I just don't need. Woodburn is easy to manage as my strategy with my main player/s is to take him/them off between 60 & 70 minutes in EVERY match. Unless I know I have a decent break between matches.

Yeah I always buy too many players and usually have big squads, but looking at my last squad in China, it was very big at all. I do the same every 60/70 mins which is more than enough in China anyway.

Also about injuries, I have noticed on my chelsea one I haven’t had any Injuries to my main men the last two seasons, I get the odd injury but not as many as I used too. Maybe something has gone on in the background 😁

Yeah, from memory, you can get away with much smaller squads in China. As you say, there are less games, often you'll get only one game per week so the players don't get that tired, there are those strange 3 week breaks every so often which allow the players to get a proper break, etc. I'd definitely be doing what you do - play him every game and sub him off around 60 or 70 minutes. I try to do that as much as possible anyway, but it's more achievable in China.

Looking to kick on and keep the goals coming in high numbers. Also have a World Cup to navigate this year so I'll get into it.

 

Transfers:

Both Havertz & Zaniolo were unhappy at their clubs and transfer listed. Couldn't resist them really. Used Zinchenko in the exchange deal to finally sign Dylan Levitt. Havertz will replace him and Zaniolo will replace an ageing Ramsey. The other signings were all Welsh. Declan Symons the pick of them. A striker with some really good stats.

As I've said, the squad was massive compared to what it needed to be but the players are young and I don't want to sell them before they possibly become great. So, loads of loans. We're the Chelsea of China.

This is where things go a bit mad. 😳

Decent draw in the World Cup group stage. Navigated our way past Uruguay and Australia to get to where the FAW expected.

Second round we were drawn came up against Colombia. Needed a penalty shootout to get past them. A goal from my player, Sebastian Villa almost dumped us out before a late equaliser from the young Symons saved the day and forced penalties.

Third round ended up being a routine victory against Peru. Woodburn, the star of the show.

More South American opposition await in the QF. This time, the might of Brazil. A 94th minute winner! Not going to lie. I jumped out of my seat when it went in. Ol' Dai Brooks, the hero.

Absolutely massive getting this far in the competition. Italy were up next in the Semi (😁). We were 2-0 down after 20 mins. Then decided to turn up. 😳

I go into every match with this Welsh team with the exact same setup I use in China. The difference being, I have a plan B and even C within the squad. My tactic is easy to change to really park the bus. Plus, it seems to work as a very effective giant killing tactic. As above results suggest. To say I'm happy would be an understatement.

Other notable Victories against Portugal, Germany and Ukraine as well as two hard fought draws with Belgium.

What a year!

 

Woodburn:

He only had a minor injury, missing two games due to a collision with a teammate in training. Due to obviously not being expected to go so far in the World Cup, the Chinese League carried on so I was without Woodburn and the majority of my squad for a number of games. That didn't stop my boy smashing it, again.

He's 27, so in the prime of his life and he still looks like he plays in League one in England. Not that it matters. He's still heading in goals all over the place. 

Another 22 International goals added to the tally too. He's scoring against much tougher opposition for Wales. Not so much with his head as his role switches at times in those matches which compliment his shooting, which he's a bit better at.

Summary:

This challenge is just about getting Woodburn to 1000 goals. Getting the Welsh job was just a way to get more games out of him. Especially in China where there are fewer games than other League's. I never ever thought I'd get near a World Cup final, never mind win it. This is without a doubt, my greatest achievement on this or any version of this game. Its just incredible. Not sure if it's even worth carrying on. How do I top it?

Oh, mate. That Euro experience was the greatest of my life. On par with my kids being born (yes! I said it) and the Welsh rugby team getting to the World Cup semi-final. I take it you travelled over?

Now I've got Wales ranked in the top 10 (6th to be precise) my draw for the Euro Qualifiers is favourable so he should bang a fair few goals in there. Just need to keep him going in the League and cups and you might just be right.

Yeah I didn’t stay over, I went out 3 different occasions, was there for the Belgium game which was the best game I have ever been to live. Was right behind the goal where Robson Kanu done the turn of a lifetime! Don’t blame you for naming it next to your kids it was amazing 😂
