Season 7:

 

After the World Cup triumph last season, I did contemplate whether it was worth carrying on with this..... Of course it is. 😁

Not much to see here. An army of players going out on loan. Only Ryan Astley added as a backup because my first choice CB's are ageing and once their pace starts to drop they'll need replacing straight away.

Wales:

We qualified for the International League semi-final. Holland, the opposition;

Love a late winner. De Ligt's red card obviously played its part in an otherwise dull looking game. 

France await in the final. I was very concerned about them. Very pacy up front and that's one thing this tactic struggles against.

I think I just FMM'd the French. 😆 My keeper was the hero. Did I mention? I love a late winner? 😁

Woodburn:

He had a two week injury, twice. Meaning under the 50 games played again. Good going considering.

A massive 25 goals for Wales this year. Helped by the five scored against Romania and four against Uzbekistan. He's now got the same amount of goals as Caps. 👌

Summary:

Another really good season done and dusted. I really want to crack on with the latest badge but I'm enjoying this too much to focus on anything else. If we carry on at this rate I'll be starting that badge in no time.

These challenges done in China are so.... I have mixed feelings about it: so cool to see the development and amount of goals but you then don't know how to compare it to other leagues. 

Anyway, great again, just 2 or 3 seasons and you are done with it, good job!!

You can't compare it to other League's. There's way too much money available and the standard is seriously poor. It's a nice change however, to the normal big team for this challenge. Plus, it's not a player normally used for such a challenge.

I won't do one of these challenges in China again but it's interesting attempting something different.

Another season finished in China. Here's how we got on.

With so much money to spend I decided to splash out on Ronaldo's regen. The kids stats are insane. £129m but it really is affordable. We let Mepham go as the offer was too good to refuse. His pace was declining and I already had two ready made Welsh replacements.

Couldn't add the European trophy to the World Cup won two years earlier. Still, a great run to the final. Woodburn on fire too.

Injury free season. His light training and subbing him off 60/70 minutes in every game seems to work wonders.

His best season. Fewer games played because the Chinese League doesn't acknowledge the Euro's taking place so that carried on.

If you look carefully, his aerial has improved by one, somehow. Still bang average though. 🤣

Summary:

 

I'm impressed with Woodburn every year. He's literally smashing this. I knew it would be doable with him in China but never thought he'd hit these sorts of numbers and produce on the international stage. Thats him over 100 goals for Wales now. One more good season and thus should be complete.

Season 9:

 

We're on the brink of completion here. A similar season to the past 4/5 and it should be done. Woodburn approaching 30 now so I just need him to keep his seemingly average stats from decreasing for a short while yet. Here we go;

TAA brought in at a steal to add some quality in an attempt to push the lad over the line this season. Nothing else really other than the usuall suspects going out on loan as I can't bring myself to sell them.

Glad to win this, eventually after two previous failures. Shows that my team of Welsh players can compete with the big boys.

Had to rest Woodburn but the ever reliable Symons shone in his place. Avenged the Euro Final defeat to Spain last year.

To all the people saying that China isn't the place for such challenges I'd reply with don't knock it until you try it. Its great for getting a player that maybe isn't all that good on the game but you want to get something great out of them. This was all about my quest to get a Welsh player on a leaderboard and I'm not guilty about using China for that.

I initially wanted to use Rabbi Matondo but ended up with Woodburn. A player I really want to see more of in real life but I fear I won't. Anyway, on FMM he's a legend to me now. 😁
