A very nice season especially considering the horrible injuries, hopefully he can have more luck on that front next year. The injuries on international duty are annoying and it’s one good thing about having the international job so you can control his game time. Hopefully the England job will come up shortly.

Thanks mate, that won’t be a problem anymore because Southgate got found out for assault on Liam Delap and was sacked. (England lost in first knockout round of WC)

Oh my god, Delap didn't get injured for a whole year, Its a miracle!

Giovinco was a very good playmaker, Ramos Mingo I sold with a buy back clause, but bought back because he looked very good. Saka was bought to help with England. Gomez was sold to make space for Giovinco

A clean sweep this year, and we won our first tournament at our first attempt. The fixtures messed up again, must be some sort of bug

Despite Dilrosun having 20 crossing, he didn't get many assists this season strangely. Bielsa is probably my favourite regen in this save so far

The best season so far, no injuries, and a great goalscoring record.

Barrenetxea came through with a lot of assists, but lots of others shared it around.

 

So Delap has scored 251 goals in 295 games, at a rate of 0.851 GpG, so only 30 goals to go to beat the record, it is in sight!

 

He also scored 17 international goals, so he has scored 268 goals toward the 1k, only 732 to go 😬

He's a strange player, isn't even motivated for the champions league final! And the fact he scored 83 goals in a season yet isn't on the scouting agency thing, very strange! Thanks mate, hope he performs for you as well

Great season, well done. I should say is an extra clean sweep after the Nations League Trophy. 

You have some great players there and Bellingham is the worse and still looks great. 

Delap is now producing over 1 GPG and be sure he will get better. He looks superb, I envy you for that 18 on Aerial.

Thanks mate, got to get the Euros next year! I have some good players coming through, inc a messi regen, but the problem is most of them have awful personalities!

I think the fixtures thing seems to happen mostly when you’re doing international or on seasons where you might be doing the CWC as well. Seems to be an issue of the game hitting some issues when there’s a lot going on anyway, or at least that’s what I’m noticing.

He’s at a nice age now so hopefully he can keep things going like this over the next few years.

Yeah that makes sense, because it messed up when I was in the CWC in TTR.

Season 8

Well, after a lengthy pause, we are back, with another injured, disappointing season!

 I basically didn't buy anyone and just sold the ones who were getting grumpy, with a buy back option for Nianzou. I will need to do an overhaul soon though, as the squad is getting old and will start to decline soon. Also I have Haaland coming in on a bosman for some reason😂

Another clean sweep, albeit less comfortably. I tweaked the formation a bit, which may not have helped.

I also in the middle of the Euros, so will probably post a separate bit on that after I have finished it.

Delap

Injuries first

A 3 week layoff meany he missed a few games, and the totals are lower than I would have liked, this Delap is so frustrating to use!

He also completed the Club Legend criteria:

I didn't realise until a game later, so he scored 281 goals in 316 games, giving a GpG of 0.889, so @FuddledFox please could you add me to the bottom of the leaderboard 😭😂

Best performers

Giovinco was probably one of the best, as was Barrentxea, while Bruno is still producing at 33. The defenders are all approaching or beyond 30, so are likely to decline soon

So, overall, Delap has scored 343 goals in 373 games, as you can see in this table:

Cheers mate, I have no problem getting the team to play well at this point, but Delap is so frustrating, hopefully it will get better.

I have worked out the maths, he needs 657 more goals, which equates to minimum 83 goals for 8 years, which would take us to 33, and then if he hasn't reached it by then, then hopefully the last 2-3 years he can do something.

I think a big overhaul is needed this season, the squad is ageing and I think is a major reason for the slight slowdown this year. Balde came in to replace Miranda, and was probably the best signing. Got Haaland on a free, which was fun, and he won Europe's best Player!

Lost on pens in the Carabao cup Semis, and a worse performance in the league adds to my squad overhaul ideas

The frustration this man has caused me is on another level. He scored 20 goals in 11 games, then didn't score for 7 games, with no change in anything except my sanity. He has so much promise, but is just so frustrating

Another great season with Delap, good luck with the 1K, it will be tough. 

I have noticed that the game AI seems to favor Dortmund players a lot in the POTY award. Haaland, Bellingham and Reyna always win multiple POTY in most of my saves even when their stats are worse than my players.

I think it is because of the low professionalism my Delap has, he is always “overly relaxed” before every fixture. Thanks mate, the next season is looking more promising at the moment

Thanks mate, need something like 90 goals for next 6 seasons, or 70 over next eight, so pretty tough.

The same players always seem to win it, always De ligt Mbappe or Haaland, despite Delap scoring tons of goals and playing way better, but who knows?

It’s definitely the over relaxed for games mate, Stewart is exactly the same on mine and he’s not playing anywhere near as well as Delap with better attributes. I just somehow got a normal Delap and not a relaxed one. It does affect things more than I thought it would.

After talk of a rebuild, I had a look and not many of the players in the game are much better than we have, particularly in the problem positions. De Visser looks like a Van Dijk regen, and Heather was bought at the end of the season. Special shout out to Angelino and Nico Barella, who have been immense for me but are starting to decline.

The youth academy is quite strong at the moment as well, with Brathwaite being one, and these two the current future hopefuls

Tear is kept out of net by Simon and Onana, but they are getting on a bit, while Darlow has been immense for club and country so far

Anyway, on to the more important stuff

The ultimate clean sweep, a total of 7 trophies won!. I forgot about the CWC so Delap actually scored two extra at the end of last year

The best season so far, with no injuries! He is still very inconsistent, but a few tactical modifications helped I think.  He still annoys me, as he will score 5 in one game then not score for 3, but it is improving, and 81 goals is the second best season so far.

Best Performers

Losada is a Messi regen, just look at the stats

These 2 were also excellent

 

So, where does that leave us?

Well, Delap has now scored 497 goals in 507 games, so we are pretty much halfway. He is 27 now, so if he carried on until 34, he would need to score 72 a season, so it might go right down to the wire!
