                                         Badge 01: The Deadly Duo

                                                   Season One

Transfers:

I will firstly talk about the outgoing players. Ben Davies and Danny Rose I felt were surplus to requirements due to the fact we already had Sergio Reguillon as a starter in this position and I decided to recall Ryan Sessengon as I feel he suits the role more and is also alot more versatile in my system. Japhret Tanganga was a hard decision to make as I felt he has potential but I had four players ahead of him in this position so I felt it was suitable to move him on.

I decided to bring in a new goalkeeper in Andre Onana, I don't need to mention how good he is in his role. I had him as my first choice and an ageing Hugo Lloris will play a rotational role in the two seasons. I also decided to bring in Raphina as I felt out wide we lacked quality and I feel as though he brings exactly what we need to the table. I was happy with my squad at this point, although next year I will be looking to move some of the more senior players on and adding some more strength in depth.

 

Competitions:

I was delighted with the way we performed this season, we completely brushed aside all competition in the league and managed to become champions. We defended very well, which gave our attacking players the platform to be slightly more expressive when going forward.

It was slightly more disappointing elsewhere, we lost to Liverpool in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. We lost in the latter rounds which was unfortunate but ultimately in two hard fought games we just were outplayed on the day by a very strong side.

It was yet more disappointment in the Europa League, where we were knocked out by SL Benfica in the knockout rounds on aggregate. We performed well in the second leg, but a very poor first leg performance let us down ultimately.

The Deadly Duo:

Harry Kane:

It was a fantastic season for Harry Kane where he won the EPL Golden Boot alongside several other awards. He was clinical infront of goal, however if he could contribute more with assists without dramatically dropping his goal output I would be delighted. I am considering changing his role but I may persevere and see how he gets on.

Heung-Min Son:

It was again a good season from HMS, he contributed well and will probably carry the challenge over the line assists wise if his teammate doesn't contribute more.

In truth I was very lucky with injuries as Harry Kane was fit all year which is very rare and Heung-Min Son was only on the sidelines for two short periods of time which again was very lucky. I have to pray the luck continues next season as far as injuries are concerned and I can complete the challenge and move on to the second badge.

Thanks mate, I've just started the second season and we have got off to a good start. I'll be happy to not be footing the leader board in truth! 😂

I should hopefully be finished this challenge and have the second season posted tommorow! I may continue in this save and start another challenge as I am enjoying the team I have built so far and have a few ideas I would like to implement with this team. 🙂

I was set back on this save as my partner went into labour and had our daughter, so naturally haven't played much! I have around five to six games remaining to complete the challenge so will hopefully get this done within coming days!

There isn't much to say here, I shifted on some deadwood who I felt could be replaced in the squad if we were to reach the next level in our performances. In came Chukwueze and Lazaro who were both regular starters, Sebastiaan Bornauw was a regular but often rotated. The other main signing Brewster played the rotation role when our main forward was jaded.

Competitions:

We absolutely smashed it this season. We played a strong squad in every competition and after winning the league last year I set out with my sights on retaining it. I wanted to improve in our domestic cups but more importantly the european cup, as I felt we had reached a new level in terms of performances. I was delighted with how this season went, we truly deserved it and it was one of the better seasons I have had after being faced with some setbacks.

I can't tell you how instrumental this man was. He once again picked up nearly every personal accolade available and rightly so.

Heung-Min Son:

I was again blown away with Son as he also manages to better a good season one score ensuring I capture my first badge! YES!

I was again very lucky with injuries as both lads managed to stay fit with the worst disruption being around ten days. We got the job done early on to complete this one and here are the final standings!

Thank you mate appreciate it, was slightly disappointed with James Trafford as thought he may develop well and rotate with Onana but he was rather stagnant!

I'm pretty happy with this score though and have my eye on one or two challenges now!
