Season 8 

By far THE WORST season I have had to date! And I still managed to go unbeaten in the league. Everything else however was a disaster. Age is against the team currently and all mid age players are very mediocre. I have extended the contracts of Janssen and Powell. Joelinton however is being reluctant to sign a new contract with it ending next season. So this may be a stumbling block. 
 

Transfers

A poor transfer market this season with only a few decent players available. 
Some youthful prospects that can really bring a new dynamic to the team could hopefully help me in future seasons.

I don’t even know what to say, 2 poor performance is in the Champions League and CFA Cup for me really marred the season. A poor poor penalty performance knocked us out of one cup and as you can see, the top players really didn’t come up in the hard times.

Vincent Janssen

It seems that time is coming to an end for Janssen who has been an outstanding contributor to this challenge. A new 2 year contract should seem him to the end of his career, but nevertheless, he can still find the back of the net. And what a career he’s had. And for that, the new Netherlands manager can always call him up for international duty! Just imagine if he didn’t have the injuries he did.

Another good season from the Brazilian. He has been distracted wanting to move onto bigger and better things which in my opinion has really hindered his performances. He is currently refusing to extend his contract currently so I’m hoping he has a change of heart soon.

Nick Powell

A poor season from Powell. His assist numbers do still stagger me, but his goal contribution for a player of his standard was appalling and I hope for a better improvement this season. A strained relationship between himself and Joelinton could be salvaged by a few goals.

Considering what there attributes are like, that’s another great season mate 👏🏻

Season 9

The first season in ages we have not managed to win the league. My reluctance to keep the Trifecta playing most games didn’t pay off at times as we lost several games due to lack of finishing. Every other competition seemed easy to the team as again a treble was on the cards. Joelinton is still declining to sign a contract extension so Season 10 may be the final season. No transfers to mention this season as I’m once more a boob and didn’t screenshot. I will get better at this eventually. I’m sure Tottenham’s poor performances over the week most have distracted me! 😂

The Season Finish

A mental league season saw the final league game come down to a 1 point deficit. 4-0 up at half time only to draw 4-4. I was devastated. But this season coming I’m going to invest into some goal scorers to ensure the league can still be won. Another excellent campaign in the CFA and the ACL meant that once more we took back the crowns to the beloved fans.

Vincent Janssen

Whilst still managing a fair few games Janssen’s finishing has certainly slipped. Chance conversion is not what it once was, but at the age of 34, it’s now not surprising. But by any stretch, not a bad return from Vinnie.

Still reluctant to sign a new contract as feels he is destined for greater things. But after 9 seasons, you can understand a change. Not quite matching the numbers he was previously but still able to contribute to the team.

An injury ravaged season for Powell meant that he was limited in game time. However, he still managed to return a good contribution.

It does make me wonder how good Janssens record could’ve been if not impacted so much by injuries over the years! Been a fun attempt… need to figure a new challenge now! 😂

Yeah for sure! Big injuries, very annoying.

Season 10

Successfully managed to tie Joelinton down to a new contract to see him through till the end of the attempt which will be finishing at the end of next season! With the retirement of both Janssen and Powell on the cards for December 2031. So there isn’t much point in me counting 2 months of the Chinese season, because it runs very strangely.

The Season

A poor overall season again for the club, struggling to find decent youth players to bring in so seem to be winning the league with the Old Age Pensioners FC! 
Goals are still not an issue for the team which is nice to see. It’s been a fun career and I am looking forward to seeing the final figures. Proud to have hit the goals that I have done in this challenge. Sad to see how Newcastle have declined without their Talisman!

The End is Here. Season 11 

After a gruelling week at work and not a lot of time to play I have finally managed to complete this challenge! It’s been fun. It’s been a strange challenge with names that not many people would ever have thought to use. Not expect the amount of goals. Yes it’s China, but who knows. I may try it in the BPL one day… not yet though, a new challenge is on the horizon.

So let’s get into it. Season 11. And this, is what I have to work with.

A couple of needed signings for defensive reinforcement and a new creative option was needed. I feel my transfers over the course of the career could’ve been better which may have allowed me to create more chances. But that is lesson learnt for next time.

A mixed bag of a final season. Another league victory was secured along with the super cup, but a shock exit in the CFA Cup early on hampered more games throughout the year, and more devastating, a loss in the champions League final.

Gutted not to have reached 700 at the end but impressed with the overall win rate. A few big injuries over the years hampered the potential of Janssen who would’ve hit well over 300 goals. But that is that. Challenge Complete.
