I'm fairly certain the Inverted Winger role was updated as one of the 'improvements'. I've been playing around with the role since 21 was released, but since the winter update they have exploded in productivity - anyone else noticed something similar?

Not used them since the update but it's a feature I like that they added.

If it's true they've improved the position then I'll be using them more from now on.

I’ve tried the role a few times previously and just couldn’t get away with it so this could be good news. Just seemed before that they sat a bit too deep to me and possibly even narrower than I thought they would. Looking forward to trying again on the new update.

Definitely give them a shot again. They seem to work really well on slow tempo, that gives them time to pick out low crosses(!) and angled through balls from the channels. If I'm not just on a fluke run here and the role was adjusted, we could finally see the glory days of the short strikers.

I tried out inverted wingers for 5 games after reading your post. Working really nice. Less shots on goal from them and more assists for my striker. Nice!

Yes the original way of scoring lots of goals from corners. But before this update I had the corners set up like this.

Delivery of ball to near post.

2 players attacking near post.

2 players marking their keeper.

2 players staying back.

2 players attacking ball from edge of area.

2 players lurking on the edge of area.

I was getting lots of goals using this corner set up. I've now played 14 games and still only scored from 1 corner...

Ah okay. I thought it was the general mechanic they'd reduced the effectiveness of.

I don't set them up all that much myself admittedly.

I got a fair few from having one CB Marking Keeper and aiming crosses to penalty spot the CB if he has good Aerial seems to get a lot! Nikola Katic was my top scorer in one save he had about 38 Goals 🤣

There's around 2,000 more players, so that would be a huge list. Here is a list of 80 or so of the more interesting players, in age order (not PA order), so as to not spoil too much for people. Including a few oldies which were bought back...

Do you need a new game in order to get the update or is applicable to existing saves as well? I have already build a team for 3 seasons and do not want to start again. just checked and I cannot see any changes.

He's decent, but not superstar level by any means, But might work out in some saves.

Dujon was in the very first DB (version 2123) for FMM21, but was removed with the DB update (v2125) that came several updates in. My comparison is checking the winter update DB (v2128) with v2125, so it's shows him as an added player (as he wasn't in that one).

Tommy Doyle doesn't show for me in either 2123 or 2125, so seems to be a brand new player. But maybe he was in FMM20? 

Edit: Ah yeah, Tommy Doyle was in the first version of FMM20, but was removed in the FMM20 Winter Update. He's back b1tche$!

Funny you should mention that! 😄 I was just trying to find a gif version of Dr Evil (no luck finding one with both parts). If I hadn't bothered trying to be funny I would have posted that before you asked...

It's crazy when you see someone you've previously done big challenges with has left the game. Diego Rolan was one of the Inception three, thankfully it's not old enough that he's retired yet as he's just left Europe but still.
