CHOOSING THE CLUB

Inter Miami were a club I really wanted to manage due to their short history & relatively small stature in the MLS. The club was only formed 3 years ago & has England Legend David Beckham as an owner. With a mix of older & younger players, I wanted to test my philosophy & the guide that was published yesterday.

STADIUM & FACILITIES

My 1st action as Inter Miami Manager was to request an upgrade to the Stadium & Facilities from the board, which they accepted. Both the 1st team & youth team facilities are excellent. The stadium has been improved to hold 22,500 supporters with this number being filled most weeks.

STAFF, FINANCES & TRAINING

My 2nd task as manager was to improve the club staffroom, which has been done, giving us a full backroom team & upgraded staff members. The finances were able to be kept in the green, this is due to cheap incoming players & pricey outgoing players. I delegated the training system to my Assistant Manager.

SQUAD

As you can see below, we had quite a big transfer market. The club had a lot of young players & old players who did not possess the quality to stay at the club. The players in fit in with the player roles dictated by the tactic which was "Gegenpressing", luckily, most of the players better to this system ended up cheaper.

TACTIC

In carrying on my 'Guide to FMM' posted yesterday, I decided to trust my Assistant Manager's opinion on the tactic - he recommended "Gegenpressing". Despite the team summary saying we had a lot more RED points to GREEN, the squad & tactic worked incredibly well. Our attack was not good but our solid defence meant the few goals we did score usually made us winners.

THE RESULTS

My 1st season with Inter Miami using my Philosophy & trusting my Assistant Manager's opinion on the tactic and we have ended up Eastern Conference Champion's & more importantly, MLS Cup Champions🥳🥳🥳🏆🏆. We achieved it with a Solid defence & players who were suited to each role in the tactic. I leave the USA with a win rate of 61% & 2x League wins! Result's like this confirm my Philosophy & get my excited to play FMM21 more.
