Season 5 selections 

Season 5 requires an Argentinian. Back when I was a wee Vibe lad I was obsessed with Strikerless tactics and challenges.

One of the forum legends @Taff challenged me to a ‘Race to 500 goals’ using Strikerless rules. Sadly the challenge never finished, but it inspired me to push on and eventually get a Strikerless 1kc with a different player: Portugal’s Joao Felix.

Anyway, the player I used in the challenge with Taff was this lad:

Ezequiel Barco is a lovely attacking midfielder, yet sadly isn’t in Zaniolo’s league, but the players around him should really help. I have a weird emotional attachment to him and I always like it when I see others use him.

Anyway, who cares about me and my emotions, eh? What people are here for is the Older Lady.

After failing miserably with Reid, Kirkwood, Belluci, and Hurley, I decided to go for someone I’d forgotten about but got reminded by Vibe’s resident obsessive @Woody.

Salma Hayek is joining me for season five.

Season 5 results

Remember I said Salma Hayek was joining us? Well, she would have had we been able to locate her. An extensive police search has ended with @Woody being arrested and his basement sealed off for further investigations.

Barco was our season five player and ended up looking like this:

A lovely player for this challenge, and one with the stats to assist well for my star striker. Well he would have had this not happened:

Doh!

Still, Barco managed a five goal haul himself…

…on way to leading the team to overall glory.

He scored 45 and assisted 40, giving us a respectable 85.

411 points so far with two seasons to go. Season six is another Frenchman (following Lemar in season two). Any guesses?

Very nice season. I'll have to temper expectations for my 5th season Argentine, given he won't have the same...  volume of support from the stands.
