Season 15

Edging ever closer to the promised land. 

 

Transfers:

Madinda is phenomenal but he is a moody git and I was getting annoyed with the amount of negativity around him so he had to go. Peterbridge was an important player for so long but he's at that age I need to move him on and get decent money for him.

One of my favourite players also left. One of the OG's. Owen Wijndal.

I probably could have squeezed another season or two out of him but I have a brilliant replacement already waiting and wanted to see what he was actually like in the time left in this career. 

 

Competitions:

Won the lot, again.

 

International:

Won the World Cup again. Gravenberch staring in the final.

Also won the International League again.

Gravenberch scored 34 goals in 18 games this year. His overall record for the Netherlands is 359 goals in 176 games.

 

Gravenberch:

He only had a minor injury this season.

His pace took another significant hit during the season which is a shame because his other attributes are still really good.  He did drop in other areas but none as important as pace.

Goals: 104 (Club) + 34 (International) = 138

Overall: 1967

A brilliant return again but it could of been so much more. He really dropped off again at the end of March. He was way above two gpg but the drop in stats had a big affect on the final numbers. I'm not overly disappointed as he's still getting unbelievable amounts of goals. Plus, he's so close now.

Thanks, Rob. For the past 13 seasons he's usually scoring at least a brace every game which is ludicrous. It's slowed down a bit now but he'll pop up with the odd hatrick after a run of games with a single goal. He is a phenom!

The only upgrade I can offer on "unbelievable Jeff" is Gary Neville's groan when Torres scored at the Nou Camp "oooaaah". Hopefully this is not too disturbing...

I just can’t get the producing every single game thing going and never have been able to tbh. I’ve had some somewhat good stuff but I’m not even sure I’ve ever had a single season 9+ avr. You’ve had that practically every season on this so I tip my hat.

I keep saying it but it's a mixture of the tactic and the SS role. He's always the focal point of attacks. Even more so than an out & out striker which is a bit silly. Im not complaining as its the key to his consistency.

Yeah, there’s just no stopping him. Well apart from in the pre season friendly games but then again he’s probably not arsed about those.

Just an update.

 

Gravenberch:

Goals (so far): 26 (Club) + 9 (International) = 35

Overall: 2002

We reach the 2k!!! As expected. I have halted the career here as I want to try a few different things. I'll be keeping the save though and may go back and carry it on at some stage.

As much as I've done this challenge for myself, it's been great having you all follow and comment. So, thank you.

@Rob you challenged me to a 2k strikerless. Even though I knew you were joking and I completely wrote it off at the time. Consider it done! 😁😁
