Season 6

 

Transfers:

Some big outgoings. Gravenberch was always injured. It was doing my head in and one of the youngsters I used while he was injured did so well I decided to just keep using him.

Barella was approaching the age of 30 so I cashed in. Probably didn't get as much as I should have for him but it's not like money is an issue at PSG.

Ederson was great for me but didn't fancy signing a new contract so he left for Hoffenheim on a free. Luckily, Donnarumma was at the end of his contract when I searched on the 1st of January and he was the ideal replacement. 

 

Competitions:

Bossed everything this season, again.

All finals were quite close affairs but Moriba proved the difference every time.

Perfect League season. Always satisfactory. 

 

International:

A season of qualifiers so nothing of note to report. Moriba scored 16 goals during these games though.

 

Moriba:

The beast actually had an injury this season. He missed three weeks.

He seems to have reached his peak. Not that he needs to improve much more.

Goals: 92 (club) + 16 (International) = 108

Total: 544

Closer to the 100 club goals but still not quite there. Another good total so I'm happy.

Another season done and he's chugging along nicely. I'm still enjoying this career, maybe because it's going so well.

I've had to switch things up and try different saves often because I don't like trying to funnel play through specific players all that much. I am curious what kind of supporting roles you're using around him. Are you playing wide or going though the middle?

I don't usually show my formations for these challenges but I will at the end of this one. I have a good number of players in attacking positions & I was worried that they might all get in each others way but it hasn't worked out like that, thankfully.

His goals really are a mixture. The wing backs get forward and whip crosses in. They assist more than my attacking wide men from open play. I play narrow & slow which does force the ball through the middle quite a bit & Moriba seems to latch onto a short pass after a pretty long build up of passing & just lash the ball in from wherever he is.

As I've said in previous updates. I think Moriba is the key to this tactic working tbh.

Season 7

 

Transfers:

Only a couple of major deals this season. The ageing Milinkovic-Savic was used in a P/E deal for Camavinga.

I let Ivan Martinez go because he had an 11 month injury this season and looked unrecognisable after that. Plus, I had two good young Spanish 'keepers that I wanted to try out.

I'm signing far to many youngsters now. I can't help myself though. Any hint of becoming good and I swoop in. Half of then will never play for me.

Another season full of trophies.

We had the World Cup to finish off at the start of the season & the International League. 

Moriba scored a whopping 31 International goals over the course of the season.

Moriba:

Another season with just a very minor injury. He didn't miss any game time really. I just had to take him off at half time in a match. He'd already scored two in that game anyway.

I'm not sure why he's dropped in decisions & positioning. Shooting increased further though. Like he needs it. 🙄🤣

Goals: 95 (club) + 31 (International) = 126

Total: 670

 

Edging ever closer to the 100 club goals. Frustrating that it's not happened yet. Going the right way though, I suppose.

Remarkable season anyway. Massive amount of goals & he's still just 24.

All this strikerless stuff is still quite Alien to me. I've followed your careers over the last couple of years & that's about it. I believe the 50/50 split is the toughest challenge but I'm just delighted to have created a tactic that works for scoring. With Moriba, anyway. I'll maybe see what I can do to add a few more assists into it.

Great stuff mate, that's massive. 100 will surely happen. I guess you could try resting him from the INT team a bit more - I sometimes find INT means more goals overall, but sometimes less at club level... Not sure about that though.

Season 8

Some pretty big outgoings this season. De Ligt was unhappy only playing 30 games a season it seems. I kept getting the message that he was unhappy and he also "didn't trust his manager". Fair enough, goodbye!

Fabian was at the age of no return and I had players that I really wanted to try out in his position.

Pembele turns out to be incredible. A few loan spells early on helped his development but he forced his way into my first team and becomes brilliant. BUT, he became such a diva. Demanding game-time even though, just like De Ligt he played plenty of games.

 

Competitions:

Another perfect League season, scoring a massive amount of goals.

Smashed Bayern in the Champions Cup final. Its quite a rare result. We don't usually score that many goals. Obviously, this season we scored a fair few more goals overall too.

 

International:

No major competitions this season but Moriba did manage to score 19 goals in 11 games which takes him well over 100 goals for Spain. We only played friendlies as we are set to host the next major tournament. 

 

Moriba:

An injury free season. It was the key to success.

An improvement in leadership. 🤷‍♂️

100 club goals!!!!

Goals: 100 (club) + 19 (International) = 119

Total: 789

So, we hit the 100 club goals. I'm delighted. We were creeping slowly towards it so I was hopeful anyway. A few less assists obviously impacted the total. He scored a few more hatrick's than normal too.

Were his thirty games consecutive matches or did you rotate? I find if I play them every other they tend to be ok, but a more than one game break and they can get grumpy, especially if ITN is also in amongst it.

De Ligt's 30 odd games a season were spread out as I use my "first" team in Champions Cup & French Cup games and an all Spanish 11 for the League games. It's something I've always done, tbh.

It's quite frequent that these "first team" players get a bit annoyed now and again. Usually I just reassure them and play them in the next game but now and again certain players lose the trust in me and therefore, they're of no use. 😁

This will be my final update here. 🥺😥

I made a catastrophic error whilst preparing for my Vibe World Cup challenge. I saved over this career by complete accident. I've never done it before and can only blame it on being after my 6th nightshift in a row.

I had this career saved a few seasons ahead of posting it on here. My battery was on 5% & in the panic whilst I had selected my team and signed a player for my World Cup challenge I saved that career over this one.

I am devastated. I truly am. I was going to take this career as far as I could to attempt a 1.5 kc or even further. I may attempt it again or something similar but for now, this is it.

 

Season 9

Took some big risks this season. Sold some real important players. Due to their age and/or wanting to get some new blood involved.

Again, I went a bit mad planning for my future in this save by signing wonderkids galore.

I wasn't sure what to expect coming into this career. Something so far outside my comfort zone. I found some serious success with a really good tactic which I will use again.

Being so close to a 1kc and actually planning on carrying this on for as long as I could makes me so angry that I've saved over it. I thoroughly enjoyed every second.
