Career A Devine Career (Strikerless, Season 8)

So after saving over my Joelinton career I was devastated as it’s the first time I’ve enjoyed FMM for a while. But it did give me an idea for my next career and it seems to be the in thing and most definitely the fun thing is getting the most out of these Mercurial Talents.

The Challenge 

So there’s not a whole lot about the challenge I can find on here but @Dai_ did find some of the rules.

 

Obviously mine will be with one “no 10” and try and get a 1,000 goals with that player.

The Player

 

So he looks pretty decent already to be fair, I’ll be hoping he can improve well in all the key areas. I have however gone in quite blind so I have no idea what his character is going to be like. I just love his name which is why I went for him 😂

The Team

 

So I love Ajax anyway so it was always going to be in this kind of league, I’ve managed all the big club nations this year so I really fancied giving Ajax a go.

Clarifications 

• A Tactic that doesn’t have any strikers being used at all at any point
• No training him as a striker 
• Get him a 1,000 goals 

Not tried a strikerless on FMM before so I’m really looking forward to something new, I hope you will enjoy following this topic. I shall make it as much fun for you as I can.

So guesses on amount of goals in his first season guys? I’m going to keep a spreadsheet with a leaderboard. Haven’t started the season yet.

I'm excited to see how you get on.

As he's only 16, this is strikerless and you can't help but tinker with tactics I think the first season will be a low return. Anything near 20 will be good, I feel.

Can’t say I’m overly familiar with the player so it’ll be interesting to see how he develops.

Best of luck. Ajax seems a perfect choice for a strikerless challenge.

How he does will depend on who else you bring in, I'm guessing he'll get at least 30 but probably no more than 60 goals. But he'll get about the same number of assists.

Actually I think he might turn out alright for you.

As for how many this year - Ajax is a good team for this sort of challenge. Only 34 games though and he's very young... Maybe 30?

Yeah it always excites me having such a young player as I love seeing how they develop, I have finished first season, may have done a bit better than 20 😉

I have been experimenting a bit so I think I kind of got a hang of it, first season is done. Thanks Woodster.

No I haven’t heard much of him until I started looking for a player for this. He’s pretty decent to be fair. Cheers Ian.

Yeah I did forget only 34 games but the league is so weak tbh. Should be easy enough hopefullly. Season 1 will be up tomorrow 😁

So hello guys, it’s been a while I’d say, about two weeks actually, you’re probably thinking where did the biggest spammer on the site go too? Well I been dealing with some personal stuff the last couple of weeks, but I am now fully recovered and back to my happy self, so you will be seeing me back on here 24/7 again. The kind of guy I am, I will comment on every career I have missed the last two weeks over the coming days😝

Season 1

So before I get in to season 1 for this, I actually played it two weeks ago, so I genuinely cannot remember what happened, so this is going to be as much of a surprise for me as it will be for you. I haven’t played any FMM the last couple of weeks at all. But I’m excited to get back in to it. 
 

Transfers

Looking at these transfers I assume I had to be very smart with my money and I was pleased with the signings I made. Bringing in Lascelles, surely he would do better in the Dutch league, surely he would do better than he currently is in England. Also it being a strikerless career I can’t bring in any players that are green or dark green in the striker position, so that had to come in to consideration with my signings (I think, I can’t remember anymore 😂)

Tactic

So this is how I set up at the start of the season, as we all know by now, I do like to tweak a lot game to game and especially with this as I have never gone about a strikerless one before, second season, you never know I could set up a completely different way.

So yeah the league I can’t remember it being that amazing but it seems like it was, only 9 conceded and over a 100 scored, we will take that all day long. I forgot to take a screenshot of how we did in the champions league, I’m sure we had you know the big boys to go out in the group stage 👀We won the Europa league though which was nice, especially seeing my boy Alfie get a goal in the penalty shootout.

So yeah what a first season from Alfie, a 16 year old nearly scoring a goal a game, this is better form than I’d get from an actual striker I think. So let’s hope it continues, he’s had a bit of an improvement as well which is nice. Hopefully more to come from him!

Unuvar has to be sold as per the rules mate. No players with any shade of green in a strikers role allowed in the first team squad. 🤢

Yeah he surprised me, does help that he seems really really good at pens! Yeah I didn’t want to sell Unuvar as I remember you using him, but it’s against the rules for me to use him unfortunately mate 😢

I wouldn’t feel too foolish. It took us dozens of times to explain the rules to Rich before he finally understood them… and his whole purpose was to try and understand them!
