Well I've decided to share my first ever tactics post here so here we go! The aim of this tactic is to controll the game and take the chance whenever you get or create one. You don't need to have world class players for this since I tried it with Galatasaray and I didn't buy any players excpet the loanees whom already were in the club. Mainly I've used the more attacking tactic which is 2-3-2-1-2 and when we faced though opponent I used the more defensive minded tactic, namely 3-2-2-1-2 with a little tweak. Anyway to make a long story short we won the league and cup and finished as one of the last 8 teams in the Champions league.

I am using almost the same defensive display, wingers just one bit upwards. Very effective against big clubs indeed! Only 4 goals so far this season:

But I’d like my strikers to score more often; when you’re using the three at the back tactic, how do your forwards thrive?

When to switch to 3-2-2-1-2 ?

And set piece ?

Swith to 3-2-2-1-2 when playing against bigger teams and don't forget to change the shape instructions.

Players with the right attributes will get the job done but they won't be scoring a hattrick or something. I've seen my pressing forward score 2 goals when playing with three at the back but that's rare. If you'd like your strikers to score a boatload of goals then I think you should stick with playing two at the back.

Used a similar tactic last year (admittedly with Barca) but with TM AF Treq front three. Hope it does the wonders for you it did for me. It does seem harder to find a flex CD/CDM this year. Last year’s were Todibo and Araujo, neither of which can play it now. Oh well.

Can you screen your set pieces ?

I'm not using any specific set piece tactics but you can tweak a little if you want to. Maybe try near post corners if your ST's or CD's are good on aerial balls.

Frenkie De Jong can be your man if you're playing with Barca. Declan Rice, Andreas Christiansen, Ethan Ampadu and Wilfred Ndidi are other good options too.
