Yeah it’s slightly overkill but wanted to see how high I could push him. His aerial has maxed out which will hold him back a little but let’s see how high we can go with goals.

I don't think his aerial being maxed out will hold him back at all. I also don't think it's overkill. You have to use players you like in these challenges otherwise they can become stale and boring very quickly. I've started 4 or 5 1kc's and got bored after 6 months and scrapped them. (I think I've found the right player and team now so I'll create a thread soon)

I'm interested in how much you can get out of him as I only used him in my Triple threat last year so it's good to see what he can do on his own. Granted, he's better on this years game.

True. 1-2k goals is excessive in itself so no player is overkill for that.

Season 7

Another cracker. Picked up a couple of small injuries which mean he lost his mojo mid season but still scored 117 goals from 51 games. 

He’s still improving too.

I’ve had an idea for a festive themed challenge so I’ll see if I can blast through a few more seasons of this before starting that one. I’ll come back to this as want to serve his full career.

Season 8

The club World Cup was this year so it was our best chance to join club 150. So close, yet so far. We’re still in it and after the tournament he would have made it but the season cut off happened and we ended up with 146 goals from 61 games. Oh what i’d do for a few more league games each season in Portugal. 
Still, an amazing season. 

We’ll struggle to match that. I kept him in bubble wrap all season knowing we had the CWC at the end but he’ll never play they many games again I don’t think. 
 

Awful season in the league losing our 3rd match in 8 seasons. Heads will roll

Incredible season from the boy considering he’s still only 24. 2k is definitely doable barring any major injuries I’m thinking. Or either one of us retiring early

So usually when we start a season well i big up the team saying we’ll smash it and then a few players get nervous that our unbeaten run will end etc. 

This year I thought I’d play it down and say we’ll take it game by game. It didn’t go down too well… 😂

Nearly the 150. Wow! Unlucky man.

What is Lamptey's output like as a winger? I've always been tempted to use him but never do in any long term save. Is he still top of assists?

He’s a beast on the wing. I played him as wing back for the first two seasons until TAA arrived. Tried him as a winger while I looked  for a better one and he’s been irreplaceable. 

That 20 pace and 20 dribbling means he gets round the back all the time and even with 15/16 crossing is deadly. He’s not my corner taker and still gets so many assists.

Season 9

Well the wheels very nearly came off here. As posted above, I tried to play down the seasons success to try and stop everyone getting worried about going unbeaten and it turns out I’ve got a squad of divas and they tried to revolt. 

The performances were lacklustre, the team dynamic was terrible and even after throwing massive new contracts at key players it took us a few months to get going. 
But we got there in the end. And even this little hypocrite came around. 

He’s my second most important player after Moukoko as he’s a beast so I’ll let him off but the others have some answering to do.

Talking of Moukoko, he stood by me through it all and never once doubted me. When the team pulled together he started banging them in and we ended up with 115 goals so still a hell of a season.

We managed to turn this season around but there are a few people who are going to be shown the door so we’ll have a bit of a rebuild this season. A few players are irreplaceable but some are not and the ones that threw their toys out the pram don’t have a future here.

Season 10

And we’re back on track for greatness. Got rid of a couple of trouble makers and sorted the rest of the team out so we were back hitting big numbers. 137 goals to be exact.

That brings him to exactly 1000 goals under me from 514 games which is pretty insane. Especially considering I don’t like to use international goals for these challenges. He’s got a lot more to give as he’s only 26 so we’ll keep going…

Season 11

A good season, not a great season. He had a bad second half of the season which could be the update or could just be the new players settling down as my previous key players now get old. Time will tell. 107 goals is still a great return though. 
 

 

 

Team:

TAA was getting too old so I dropped Lamptey back to RB which meant a lot fewer assists from him but Souza my young winger stepped up and was class. My left winger is a diva and didn’t have an amazing season as he moans too much. I may look to move him in but he is world class.

Parking this for a little bit as the update hasn't been friendly to my tactic. I will finish it later though.
