Chat Adding retiring players to coaching staff - aptitude?

Does anyone else like to add current/former players that are retiring to their coaching staff? If so, do you get any other aptitude other than poor?

I like to add these guys to my staff considering the only thing that matters for staff is a gold badge, but I always get poor aptitude when they sign on as staff. I have spent an unfortunate amount of time trying to level up James Milner from a silver badge to gold badge but with poor aptitude it seems near impossible. Does anyone else actually get retiring players on staff with a better aptitude?
