CHOOSING THE SQUAD

I chose to manage Cork City F.C at random from Ireland's lower league. The club were formed in 1984, have experienced some big highs but also some big low's, being relegated in 2020. I hope my philosophy can take Cork City F.C back to the top of Irish Football.

STADIUM & FACILITIES

The infrastructure at Cork City F.C is pretty average. The 1st team & Youth facilities are adequate. The stadium holds over 7,000 supporters.

STAFF,FINANCES & TRAINING

The staff room was improved & filled out, although, only at a basic standard. The Finances are secure despite overspending on improving the squad. The training was again delegated to Assistant Manager Anthony Elding.

SQUAD

The squad was completely overhauled due to quality of the original squad. Most players were released from the club with immediate effect. The players bought into the club were normally reasonably priced with a few high quality items. All players were signed based on the attributes PACE/DECISION & TEAMWORK.

TACTICS

I used my Attacking Tiki Taka Tactic for this career. The tactic really strong although it felt like we never really ran away with matches. That said, it did it's usual job of giving us the best defence in the league although attack could be stronger.

THE RESULT

The result of my 1st Season with Cork City F.C was outstanding & we achieved the season aim of getting promotion to the premiership!🥳🥳 Our attack was fairly weak & unconvincing BUT the defence was consistently good with many draws or wins. We came close to doing really well in a number of cup competitions too which indicates the club is on the up once again.

UPDATE- SEASON 2022

The dreaded 2nd season with Cork City F.C & what a hell of a season, with the club regaining there place at the top of Irish Football! 🥳 The club even went further, winning the Extra.IE FAI Cup which was deemed to be almost impossible by the board!😲 The season genuinely was very challenging for Cork City F.C & Sligo Rovers/Bohemian fought us right up to the last match. The season was even better when thinking that the aim from the board was just Mid-Table(Originally to avoid relagation). It is nice to see such an iconic club as Cork City F.C at the top of Irish Football once again!
