Chat Favourite/strongest defence combinations/tactics

Recommended Posts

A lot of the popular tactics for FMM seem to revolve around scoring lots of goals....which is fine of course, and a lot of fun....but I was wondering what combination do people on here love to use to create their strongest defensive unit.....in terms of number of defenders? Roles? defensive tactics?

I love Bastoni and Skriniar. They are friends and make a good combination. I used them on my tactic that set the record for fewest goals conceded in a season.

Also, I prefer to use BPD instead of CD simply because I feel like it helps to get the ball to my midfielders.

I use 4 defenders mostly but with 2 WBL pushed up so the 2 DC are their own line of defense.

Shall definitely check out that combination of players.....when you play BPD's how do you avoid them getting wondering off and getting caught out at the back? Are you a fan of using offside?

I never use the offside trap. I don't like conceding cheap goals, which happens sometimes. If I'm playing BPD, I usually have a DMC to help protect them. Also, they need to have high decision rating.

I alternated throughout the season. It's not a plug and play tactic. It took me several seasons of testing to get familiar with what changes were appropriate.
