Career Rob’s Peak Years - Season 04 results

The Peak Years challenge is one created by the brain of Vibe’s resident Fox - @FuddledFox - and is one of my favourite to do. Basically you can pick between one and five players, play five seasons, and your score is the total assists and goals across your players.

So as I had a rubbish Covid-wrecked end of 2021 and I started this at the start of the January 2022, I decided to treat myself.

I opted with three players, using a tried and tested tactic, and chose Manchester City as my team:

As for my players… I forgot to do a screenshot of the first one. Doh! But he’s a player we are all familiar with…

…the one and only Bruno Fernandes!

As for the second, I opted for a player I have a history with and who is a safe hand:

Maxi Gomez has made his way to Manchester. Love this guy. Greens in shooting, aerial, decisions, movement, teamwork, and strength, with an improvable, but decent, 14 in stamina. 

Crossing over from Liverpool to Manchester is an English striking hero:

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (DCL) has joined the gang.  Similar greens to Maxi, but a player I haven’t really used much before and one I’m interested.

The team is built around Bruno, with DCL my focal striker and Maxi kinda ‘just there’.

I shall be back, hopefully, later in the week with season one (which is long finished!).

Yeah, I'll echo what the others said - nice choice of players and will be an interesting one to watch. Will be intrigued to see how DCL goes - in theory he should be up my alley, but I only tried him once and couldn't make it work - but I've seen others do well with him.

Season 1 Update

So I had a change of plan on this, simply because I wanted to test a tactic, so I ended up going to PSG and using these three boys:

Two obviously top notch players, with one in the tier beneath. Season 1 results coming shortly.

Season 1

My tactic in this is all out attack, which may lead itself to a lot of goals but is not the most consistent in terms of winning everything. Still, this challenge is about goals and the threesome scored and assisted a fair few:

This meant we finished season 1 with a contribution of 246.

A score so far that I am absolutely delighted with.

I really like the idea of the Peak Years challenge. I reckon it could be a good one to do whilst figuring out tactics for a DT or TT.

Season 02

A slight drop this year, probably caused by leaving the Champions Cup in the quarters…

But we ended up with 231, which is still a decent amount. 477 to date.

Season 03

This was the best season we have had, where the lads destroyed it.

They finished the season looking like this:

Three players in the peak of their career, putting emphasis on the first word of the ‘Peak Year Challenge’!

This double legged tie was madness:

With the threesome finishing the season with these scores:

That was a 260 point season, which is my highest ever on this challenge.

737 points so far with two seasons to go.

If I try to find anything less than great there, the only thing I can come up with is DCL not matching the others - but as you say, two world class players and one slightly below that. So I'll give him a pass. So can't find any flaws here mate! (which is to be expected).

Season 04

After the escapades of season 3, I had hoped for more but ended up with a respectable season nonetheless.
