You keep it for the other transfer window

Last year you’d keep the transfer budget, and is available to use for player transfers (or manager changes) through seasons 1-5.

Certainly I recommend saving at least $10m - in case your manager is fired by the AI and you want to pick one that’s employed by another club (I.e. manager buy-out fee). Otherwise you’ll have to accept only unemployed managers, of which there may not be many!

Nothing, you keep it the whole time. As you can still buy/swap players after the draft is done in the following ways:

  1. Anytime between managers, but transfers will only happen in January and the Summer transfer window (except loans, they may happen anytime).
  2. After the season, depending on your sponsorship, it's also possible to do an extra transfer from a "non-owned" team (no other way to get these transfers except retirements).
  3. When a players retires you will need to buy another player to replace him.

Sidenote: You can also use it to get another manager.

Am waiting for this round to end (I.e. when @Chelseaplchamps2022 sends his/her picks) - then will do try to something cool.

Thanks for the feedback as well - much appreciated

If this was real FMM then the next message in your inbox would be: "the squad have reacted negatively to the chairman's media response. Elite midfielder Thomas Muller openly questioned why the Chairman is heaping on unnecessary pressure onto the Broodje players." haha 😉

Müller feels pressure from success? That doesn’t sound right.

Part 1 of 3:
SEASON 1 PREDICTIONS

Which teams are true title contenders + which are teams for the future?

1. Broodje FC

1.png.578cef0a5f0b28bda2fa61ee355e917c.png

With a team full of midfielders, @broodje kip's team surely should be considered Top 4 Contenders - though they may be expecting more.

Spoiler

Key Stats:

  • Manager:    Mourinho
  • Formation:    4231
  • Sponsorship:    Win a Cup (Carabao or FA Cup only this season) = Buy a Non-Vibe Player for 50% of Value
  • Squad Age:    Normal (average of ~25)

Squad Analysis

  • MVPs = Barella, Muller, Alisson.
  • Strengths = will Mourinho's 4231 give an advantage against the other Vibe's sides mostly 41221 formations - especially as most of Mourinho's players are worth between $40m-$70m, giving great squad depth especially across the attacking midfield positions. Also has a strong central defense and one of the world's best keepers.
  • Concerns = their biggest concern is they lack an elite Target Man, with just the ageing Griezmann and midfielder Muller to lead the line - will they be able to score enough goals? Other potential concerns for fans are that, with the exception of Cancelo, the other full backs are either young (Porro) or cheap - could this be a weakness which will be especially exposed given (although they have Kessie) they'll play a 4231 formation without a defensive holding midfielder sitting just in front of the back four? Only time will tell.
  • Bizarre Question - with no heal bonus + the extra games with European Champions League football, is it possible that Vibe-legend Mikey Johnston will play +20 games in his first season in England?

2. Kun FC

2.thumb.png.bb09b6cec568e3a7d92ab96af94a54c3.png

With the two best young attackers in the game, @Kun Aguero's team surely should be considered one of the draft's true Wildcards - Kun FC could be clear title favourites, but some pundits also think they won't finish in the top 4 with manager Bielsa one of the leading favourites to get sacked / replaced in season 1!

Spoiler

Key Stats:

  • Manager:    Bielsa
  • Formation:    41221
  • Sponsorship:    Win a Cup (Carabao or FA Cup only this season) = Buy a Non-Vibe Player
  • Squad Age:    Normal (average of ~26)

Squad Analysis

  • MVPs = Haaland, Mbappe.
  • Strengths = with one of the strongest attacks in the EPL, Kun FC should be confident of scoring plenty of goals (+2 goals per game?), including with plenty of strength in attacking depth with Aguero, Di Maria and Correa potentially on the bench. They also have good experience in the back line with surprise picks Otamendi and 38 year old Alves.
  • Concerns = can Mbappe and Haaland play in the same team? In a 41221, an AI manager picks the highest CA player in the central TM role, which in this case puts Mbappe as TM and Haaland on the bench! @Kun Aguero states he 'has a plan' - fans are wondering if that plan is to sack manager Bielsa, replacing him with a manager who plays two up-front?! Other concerns are whether Kun FC will have the money (in the future) to replace their four aging key players, plus surely their participation in the European Champions League will put pressure on the squad players who were cheaper and probably weaker than the first team XI.
  • Bizarre Question - will 38 year old full back Alves extend his contract, meaning he won't retire until his 40's?

3. Silent Reader FC

3.png.0909b1d279c5d22183f730c6905e6c90.png

With Messi leading the joint-oldest squad in the draft, @vizardjr's team must be considered a Title Challenger for this first season, though fans are concerned about whether manager Enrique's 41221 is the best formation to unleash this side's obvious creativity.

Spoiler

Key Stats:

  • Manager:    Enrique
  • Formation:    41221
  • Sponsorship:    Top 4 = Buy a Non-Vibe Player
  • Squad Age:    Golden Oldies (average of ~27)

Squad Analysis

  • MVPs = Messi, Benzema, Bernardo Silva.
  • Strengths = with probably the most creativity in any attack within this draft, Silent Reader FC should also be extremely threatening going forward. They also should be better rested than other teams, with both a monthly heal bonus and no European football. Lastly almost all team has good depth, after acquiring a squad of mid-value players, it means they have very few weak / cheap squad players.
  • Concerns - the biggest concern is whether Enrique's 41221 is the best formation to ensure the team's most creative players are all playing together - especially if this means either Messi or Tadic need to be sacrificed from the first XI. Fans are also worried about the lack of ST cover from potentially injury-prone 33 year old Benzema. Lastly, with the joint oldest squad, fans are critically worried about what happens if the club need to replace the aging Messi, Benzema, Tadic and Cuadrado for seasons 2 or 3.
  • Bizarre Question - by the end of the season, who will be the first choice pick at AMR - Messi or Tadic? I.e. is Messi droppable?!

Part 2 coming soon (tomorrow?)

What do you think - agree/disagree?!

Nice stuff @DanEnglish 👍

Not sure if anyone had notice yet, but my whole team are made up of Argentinean except Mbappe, Haaland and Dani Alves. 😂

Tbh I don't think my team is good enough to challenge for the league title this season yet, especially with my weak defense, but I'm super confident that I will finish above @broodje kip 😏

Player Draft Round 6: CM + CD + GK

Rules:

Wait until the person before you made his/her choices. As soon as the person posted his/her choices, the next one can post theirs.

Every manager will have a maximum of 24 hours to post their choice (doesn't mean you have to take 24 hours though 🤣)

Pick 1 CM + 1 CD + 1 GK (3 players total)

For a player to be picked, he has to have a dark green (accomplished) shade for that position

For more player choices, load up a save to check 😉

Order for picking players:

1. @FrAn4eSc0 Budget Remaining: 128.5M

2. @JamesVilla Budget Remaining: 180.25M

3. @StuartM Budget Remaining: 99M

4. @Kun Aguero Budget Remaining: 108.6M

5. @Chelseaplchamps2022 Budget Remaining: 85.5M (I will need 1 extra CM + 1 extra LB/LWB + 1 extra RB/RWB, so 6 players total)

Kun FC is going to either do really well, or below the expectations of any team with Mbappe/Haaland/Sane - I think not much in between.

If I had to bet, then I'd agree with @Victor77 and say that Kun FC should be title favourites - even if Haaland in on the bench, they should be able to outscore most opposition - the modern day Keegan entertainers?!

Cause mbappe and haaland can easily average 25 goals while sane can average double in assist
