The Winter version of FMM22 is out and with it comes an updated database (version 2230). So - what's changed? Let's look at some of the major changes.
Players Removed From The Database
In total 5,147 players were removed from the database. Here are the top 30 (by PA):
Shout out to Davy Pröpper and Thiago Maia who also bow out but didn't quite make the list.
Players Added To The Database
In total 6,301 players were added to the database. Here are the top 30 youngsters by PA:

Young Players Who Are Worse Off
Here we will take a look at the young players who have lost Potential Ability (PA), either as a result of being re-evaluated by the SI Games team or who have just had their default PA change.
Note: Every time a new FMM database is generated from the full fat FM database, young players are assigned a new default PA value (0-200). This appears to be based off the full FM database value, but randomised (just like it is in a new save game).

Note there are many more players in each range, but I can't fit them all, so I only included ones who had relatively high PA in the previous database version. Same in the next section.

Now, we'll do the opposite and look at young players who have improved in the Winter database.

What About CA?
After being asked about changes to Current Ability (CA) by @Felix_is_king, I decided to add this section.
Players Who Lost Between 10 and 19 Points of CA
The biggest name there is Ronaldo, who lost 15 points of CA. It's worth mentioning that Messi didn't quite lose enough to be included, but he lost 8 points of CA.

Final Thoughts
The above lists are fairly flawed. For example, some of the players listed who improved more than 40 points aren't quite as good as some of the ones I couldn't fit who only improved 10 to 19 points. It also doesn't capture things like Moukouko losing 9 points of PA, taking him from mid 5 stars down to high 4.5 stars, or things like Jorginho somehow being upgraded to a PA of 200 (the highest in the game, equal only with Messi).
As always, focusing too much on PA doesn't really help. You are better off finding players who have the right attitude and fit into your system and perform well, even if their PA is not quite as good as some of the other players out there. And a high PA isn't always great anyway! For example, Moukouko is still going to be an awesome player, even if his PA is a little lower. And having a lower PA will mean he reaches his full potential more quickly and he'll bounce back quicker from injuries.
Also, I haven't looked at who's changed clubs or impact on club budgets or anything like that.
However, hopefully it's interesting reading for some of you.
