Is there anyway to get B teams in the English leagues to act in the same way they do in Spain, for example having them added to the main league structure?

Yes, there's actually a way. You can even take over another club to act as your reserves, like what I did with Newcastle Blue Stars.

In order to do so, you need to know hex editing, and would probably had to make a new savefile though.

So I just did it today. how I did it is:
1/ Search for your club name

2/ Search down, Looking for the two y together. Look like yy

3/ and 3 code hex before it is the club id

4/ find any club in the league, that you want your B team moved to. DO NOT USE THE RELEGATED CLUB. The reason is they will be moved to the lower league, and do not count to the club to be participate the league next season. if you choose one of the club in the relegated zone, next season, your B team general info till show it is in the league u chosen, but they ur B team doesnt have fixtures and if you look at the table, ur B team isnt there.

5/ repeat the same step, search for name, search for the yy and id.

6/ switch ID of ur B and the clun

7/ enjoy.

OMG, but why would you want too! 😄

If you want you youngsters to develop at all, you don't want a B-Team. Even if you loan them out, you can't do it from the B-Team, you have to do it from the first squad - otherwise they will hardly develop at all.

I don't know, maybe if you move your B-team to Serie A or something they will develop, but B-Teams in general are just so far behind Reserves when it comes to players developing and a bunch of other little things.

Is it possible to make yourself the manager of a B team using a similar method?

I made Blue Star a reserve team for my Newcastle side, and I think it went well, especially when the team started promoting to higher division. It was fun to have them rewarded with actual trophies and facing better opponents than in the English reserve leagues, but to be fair the schedule could become too hectic for them when their reach the EFL divisions.

Did it take long before they got to the Vanarama leagues?
