Tactics Good Defence and average 2 goals per game ** Lower leagues

Recommended Posts

I have found this years edition particularly difficult however I have tweaked this tactic a little and now seems to be decent...I have tried it in English League 1 and it got me last minute promotion through the playoffs when i discovered it...I am currently trying it in Scottish championship. Have a go and see what you think.

Looks good. I like it, especially the DM / B2B and AP combination in midfield.

Do you normally play Kamwa as your B2B? He’s got pretty decent shooting, movement, decisions and pace - right?

If you’re open to a tactical tweak - this may be interesting for you to test …

Spoiler

If you want an extra way to carve open the opposition defense, especially if they play a 442 or 4231 …

… then try changing one wide IF (on the same side as your B2B) to an Inverted Winger!

Why? The IW stays wider, the AF + IF stay central, and the AP often moves the opposition midfielders around … so there’s a huge channel for the B2B to run into 1:1 scoring positions!

If you want to take this further, also test having the IW & B2B on the other side / right-hand side - so IF & AP on the left, IW & B2B on the right, with your AF upfront. You may find you create better chances this way, depending on the preferred feet of your players.

For more info, I have lots of screenshots explaining how this works here:

Yes mate i usuallynplay him B2B...his goals ratio is decent...Funnily enough i used the IF and AF combination after seeing that article before but sidelined the IW...I will try it with an IW on the suggested side and let you know the results.
