Tactics Plug and Play 2-2-3-3 Roaming Centre Overkill

Hi All, anyone who knows me have seen my attempts at creating tactics that do work, sometimes with some success, and others with great success, some of you agree, and there disagree, either way I only post these days if it works.

I tried and tested this Tactic with 4 teams, the last one being a bit of a laugh and a challenge at the same time, Teams was:

1. Everton - Won the league first season, wanted to see if I could get this tactic to work with an underdog, concentrated more on the Prem, rather than the Cups as you will see.

2. Barry - Won the League first Season, wanted to see if it worked Lower league, randomly picked Barry, don't know if they are one of the better teams or not?

3. Sevilla - Won the League first time, thought I would see how it handles an underdog in Spain, again randomly picking Sevilla to see if I could win the League

4. Man City - With all the money, and superstars, could I get it to click and win comfortably, again weaker teams in the Cups.

5. Barcalona (with a difference) - So for this I challenged myself to have or buy ONLY 31+ players, so anybody under 31 years old had to go, a fun season with oldies in the team

 

I do not choose to train, because it was only one season, I made sure I had any of the following Coach's - Attacking, Fitness, Defence, Fitness, and then I would swap training throughout the season to each one every few months. Fitness was my main go to.

Other points to note, *Praise, keeping praising your players for star performance, anybody gets a 9, I would praise them, anybody with a 5 Criticise, and anybody 4 warn them

Also I did use the Marking Keeper for Corners, if the Striker had high Aerial I would choose them to Mark keeper, all others stay back, otherwise it was always one of the CD, does get you vital goals in 1-0 wins or at times they can score a hat trick with weaker teams.

Simply sold all none essential players, including bringing back Loanees and selling them on

So what is the Tactic and how did it go for each Team:

Showing the Tactic with Everton first, the Formation as you can see I chose to have 2 CD's (Not BPD as I wanted to try and stay solid as much as I could at the back), then 2 Wing backs (Pace and Stamina key), then follows the crazy part, 3 Roaming Playmakers (Movement, Passing and creativity key) to run the midfield, then 3 up front with either side having a Inside forward backing up a Poacher (tried CF but didn't give me the results neither did a Target?)

Next the Shape where I simply keep the Width, Tempo and Freedom to normal but chose Attacking play.

For Defence I kept a High line with closing down EVERYWHERE, and the surprise piece, Committed Tackling, and why, sounds horrible, but the amount of players that excelled playing this, plus (horrible to say) teams lost a lot of good players through injuries during the game because of my tackling, sounds wrong, but better for my team as they lost important players in the game. And some my think you have a lot of sending offs, not if you try to get players with lower Aggression

Finally the Attack, With the 2 IF and Poacher, I chose to get everything in the box as much as possible, so Work into box and through balls worked brilliantly, keep the play to Short with Mixed passing (did try mixed passing, but didn't give me the same results, to many missed passes), GK distribution was mixed so I could get quick release or slow from the back.

Surprisingly I clinched it right at the end from Liverpool, for the First season 21/22 I was amazed I could knock off both Liverpool and Man City with an underdog. Most goals scored, and least amount of games lost.

I sold a lot, and brought in a lot, the Team starting was not who I wanted, this team needed a big revamp if I was to do anything with them, so I chose the right players that was willing to come to me and if I could afford them. Mainly it's the 4 or 5 midfielders to play the RM you need, Movement, Decisions and Passing is high, then they need Stamina, Creativity and I always go for Pace as well.

Won the League comfortably, clearly winning with 16 point more than second place TNS, again most goals scored and least losses throughout the season.

Won the league quite comfortably, eventually winning by 12 points clear from Barcalona.

With this tactic again Lowest amount of losses, and most Goals scored.

Didn't concentrate on the Cups again, but did well in the league only losing 4 games and scoring 91 goals

Lost only one game which was a bizarre loss as I had 24 shots and they had 5, lost 3-2??

Lost 1 with 108 points is not bad, 5 losses total is ok.

Won the Community Shield and the Champions League, but only with my Second Team, all of the 1 seasons have been second team playing the Cup games

Bought Icardi as I thought he would be better, but not really as good as I thought, Robertson was to bolster the wide left, and 2 midfielders to help with injuries or fatigue

Now to remind you, this was a bit of FUN to see what I could achieve with ONLY players already 31 years old and over, all other players were either Sold or sent to the reserves, I lost a lot of money as I reduce their prices to get rid of them, this left me with at least 7 players already in the Team, Pjanic, Alba, Aubreyang, Busquetes, Pique, Neto and Alves (38). I added more screenshots to show all ages end of season

So I finished 3rd in the end having dropped a few points near the end, but a presentable 77 goals and only 27 conceded with the age of the squad, eventually losing 6 games in total.

Got to 2 Finals, Champions League and Spanish Cup, losing both at the final hurdle

That’s not good to hear, I just finished a season with York, plug and play the season and…

Won the league with so many games to go, didn’t spend a penny on players, all free. Only lost 1 game and won the FA Trophy, I might have a go at Leicester to see how I get on?

Could be the players not suiting the roles? Maybe try training them for the roles they will play or recruit players that fit.

I haven't tried it yet but that may be the way to fix it if it's not working for you.

I think the biggest problem with Leicester is they have slow players, constant injuries, the staff are rubbish, and the players do not fit into the positions of the tactics in this post. I did a little test with the same results as you more or a less…

before with no change to squad or staff, P9 W5 D0 L4

Bringing my home town to back to past glories!

This is a lovely tactic if the players with right attributes are deployed. 

Tried this in between a save - I got sacked by Tottenham mid season so did Jurgen Klopp. Took over Liverpool and they had a decent squad to try this tactic. 

Second half of the season was clearing out deadwood and structuring the squad.

Going to run with this for a bit and see if it's consistent. Absolutely sick of this game lately breaking tactics after half a season.

Almost stopped playing it it's that frustrating nowadays to pick up and play.

I think for me it's more about the type of coach's you hire, if you get the right ones, so for me I look at att, motivation, and try for fitness, as you get bigger club you can add maybe Def or Gk for example. Once you have the right coach, I switch training between them, I do about 3 months before switching to the other, and keep doing this throughout the season, it works for me, others prefer to train manually which is a big difference again. With the right players your coach's help make them improve where needed

Looks good, I did say with the right players, as I did with Everton, it works very good, I've just completed traking York to the prem getting promoted every season and finishing in the top 10 first try in the prem, might add it here when I get chance

Thanks, glad it's working, I know it can, sometimes people want instance success but I always find season 1 has its favourites, so you will have to tinker with any team to get it to accept this tactic

Mate I feel your pain, it can be frustrating, I don't know how done guys get players to score over 100 goals a season, I tend to make the team score together, that's why I never really try 1000 challenge really, it will work with the right players

So I tried this with another Lower team, didn't change anything except now and again the striker preferred Adv rather than Poacher, but in the end the Poacher for me scored more goals. 

As you can see I got straight promotions up to the Championship, but I cocked up a little because I keep selling my players for big offers, but then bought future youngsters, which are good but not right now, so I suffered in the Championship, eventually winning the Play Offs, and then again hard to bring in big players with the facilities and the club not progressing as quick as I wanted, even though I was Rich.

I guess the key is try and Keep your best players regardless of the money being offered, the downside is they get unhappy if you turn down a big club move, and to be truthful York will not be a big club for another 2 or 3 seasons in the Prem.

I use pretty much the same tactic in my current save (2nd season with Oxford City, in VNL), with a couple of changes to roles (my 3 midfielders are BBM - BWM - RP and 2 wingbacks to IWB.) and instructions are slightly different, but it's working really well for me too.

There's a trick to avoid that - you initially accept the offer, but when it comes to the screen where you confirm the deal, click No. It'll cancel the transfer and the player doesn't become unhappy.

Picked Newcastle (Because I'm not good at transfer tricks) and it's been a disaster. I'm missing a few key players every game because of injuries or red cards (Thanks to aggressive tackling) and after half of the season, I'm just above the relegation zone. Defense is non existent and I don't create enough chances. Not sure if that's the tactic's fault or I'm doing something terribly wrong. Edit: Got sacked on the 1st of January so things did not improve.

So I picked Newcastle and made some shrewd buys and sales, could have spent more time but wanted to see if I could make the Tactic work, and here are my results…

How did you pull off so many player exchanges? When I tried it, 90% of the teams only wanted Dubravka from my squad...

I guess it depends on the players you are going for, as i tend to use the search engine and add the attributes i want for each role, sometimes the player is not that well known so a player exchange is easier with that team as they are getting a good player in the swap
