Career Old school career: FMM realistically (Season 3)

I finally got FMM22, is one and half years since I last played the game and I just wanted to give it a try... no challenge, no fancy stuff, just an old school career trying to play realistically, like when I was playing before joining Vibe.... rules:

Manager: Starting unemployed, no reputation, no badge. I will only apply for available jobs (no declaring interest) from VNN and VNS.

Staff: I will hire only unemployed staff while I'm in VNN/VNS and/or get staff from teams from lower leagues after I get higher in the league system. While I'm in the VNN/VNS, VNL and League 2 I will only hire staff from or based in the UK. I will sack only one staff member per season in VNN/VNS/VNL and also send one staff to take assessment per season, if the finances can handle.

Scouting: I will manually scout players only for players from the league I reside, 5-6 players/team while I'm the lower league + players from affiliated clubs.

Players: I will not sign any players without a scouting report. No looking in the free players list. No get players out of the retirement. Sign (permanent transfer/loan) max 5 players per season and get one more for each league I get up (6 for VNL, 7 for League 2, 8 for League 1, 9 for Championship and 10 for Premiere League). Offer players to clubs only 2-3 per season and get the number up as I move up in the league system. I'm not allowed to use grayout players. 

Game setup: Attribute Masking on. 

Goal: none

These are the rules, for now, I may changes or add as I move along to make sure I don't take advantage of game's weaknesses. 

This is a leisure save, I may play 2 games per day, or one season on none. If you want to say something mean, please keep it for yourself, I want to chill, not to argue. Thanks

No looking free transfer list and no chancing their opinions about retirement... Oh man that's gonna be hard. 

I'm also doing max 4 players and 1 high reputation player etc type of rules to myself but I never went that hard.

I must say, I'm an idiot! I got a job at Brackely Town, VNN, in early November, everything went ok but after about 7-8 matches I realized I didn't had Attribute Masking on so... I started again.

New rules: Attribute masking on. I'm not allowed to use grayout players, only when I don't have 11 available players.

 

Is now late October and I got a job.

 

The board expectations: mid-table finish, great!

Right now they sit at 19th after 11 matches, 9 points.

Squad depth, 30 players available, 26 in the first squad and 4 in the Reserve one... I may have to terminate some loans in order to balance the wage budget.

I have 3 coaches, all Normal and Bronze, one scout Natural & Bronze, one Physio that is Poor & Bronze. Good thing is that I have 2 free slots for scouts and 2 for Physios.

Good luck, although it’s not good to see one of my local teams, Blyth, sitting at the bottom.

This is along the lines of how I’d have to go if I were to play the game again tbh, so it’s nice to see this on here.

This green recycling symbol 

Will appear when your player was being scouted/other team became interested in your player/there's transfer offer for your player.

Like others said it means there are some interest on your player some clubs might wanna transfer or loan him. It doesn't necessarily mean he's on the transfer list or the loan list.

Also when you see exclamation mark in a blue box next to player that means player demands something maybe he wants a new contract maybe he wants to go generally when they unhappy the exclamation mark in the blue box appears.

@Ian "if I were to play the game again", I see thag many are "out of business"... 

 

Small update: I did play few games, the squad is rubbish and I only have 4 defenders, 3 of them are useless, one is useless for 4 months now... 

 

And bisede of that, I can't get any players on loan because the previous manager got 6 already. I had to terminate the loan for 3 of them as they were very weak and needed the money to sack one coach and have positive attitude wage balance in order to hire a replacement. 

 

Other than that, I can't find any unemployment natural scouts....

Season 1

Nothing much happened, finished 12th place, just 6 points under the play-off zone. I had a poor run at the end with 4 or 5 matches without a win but I'm sure that even with that I wouldn't make it to the play-off spots.  

I like this new home screen, a lot of useful info. Very happy with few players and for now there is only one relationship on the field and is a yellow one between the top scorer and top assist guy.... Love is in the air!! 

 

I only did 4 thansfer, from the 5 max that I've setup as a limit.

 

NEXT SEASON: I already got 3 transfers set for the new season, but one is injuried so I doubt the board will let me get the player. Realistically I think I can get to those play-off spots this season so I will agree for those expectations with the board, hopefully they will also get me few extra £ on the wage budget.

Season 2

 

The season started great as I had few good pickups from the youth squad. Sadly the player who was injured didn't come as the board canceled the transfer. I got 2 other players on but I couldn't find a good DC for free or super little money so I had to get one from loan.

Attached is the transfer page after the last league match and at the end of season as I got 3 extra players and I'm sure the game won't show these in the transfer page for the next season.

The season went great, I got on the top of the table after 2 games and stayed there until the end. In FA Cup I lost in the 4th Qualifying Round to VNL Solihul Moors and in the FA Trophy went till the end and won it.

Other than that, I won Manager of the Month few times and 2 of my players got 2nd and 3rd on Top Goalscorer.

Next season: hopefully i get a financial boost so I can finally get some defenders as the aid is clearly staying away from relegation.

Naaah, I know I don't have a good team to compete. I will play today few games but I don't have high hopes, fighting to escape relegation looks realistic.

5 games passed and I managed to snatch one win. 5 games, 5 points... hopefully things will get better.
