Career My first challenge - 1KC

Hi everyone - I started FMM 2022 for about 3 months and this is my first time trying challenge. 

My player of choice :

I just want to play Spanish striker since there's a lot of cheap wonderkids with release clause in Spain, so after some thinking going with this guy. 

Transfer

Getting some nice wonderkids for team's backbone, and some more to complete the young team. Highest transfer fee for Serrano as he has 5 PA and decent starting stats, but theres some twist for that player... 

Managed to get some fee from player I don't really need. 

Result

- League

Managed to win, but Rangers become my main rival. from 4 meeting with Rangers in the league the result is 1W 1D 2L.

- Domestic Cup

Managed to win both, only meet Rangers in League Cup Semi Final and managed to (luckily) win it. 

- European Cup

Managed to reach Champions League group stage but can't get past Man Utd and Atlético Madrid. 

Get into Euro Cup and there's this clutch match in semi final, which Jon became a hero :

And finally, we got Euro Cup. 

Individual Result

Jon had a relatively injury free season with only small knock.

He developed nicely and got nice greens in good places. 82 goals in first season is really nice, my best result so far. Got called for Spanish u21 team. And that lead into this situation : 

luckily managed to convince him to stay. 

Furuhashi managed to give some goals for second striker (play mostly last 20-30 minutes each game) and Turnbull is a beast from free kicks and long shots. 

Pavon is my main man with 33 assists. Both right winger play decently and give decent assist. 

My main concern is Serrano, he has 5*PA and good nice starting CA and yet almost no development. He is slacking, unprofessional, and unmotivated each games. His crossing didn't increase at all... Still don't know how to maximise his potential. 

Total goals : 82/1000.

Thanks. Well if he manage 1k in 8 season, I'll try. So far in season 2, I think he won't get 100 goals, since there's less match to have (no qualification for CL) and we got through to Knockout stage, with harder opponent so less goals from him I think. 

 

Need Spain job ASAP to reach it.

I have two questions.

I started my career with Celtic and bought couple of players including Sesko but i never achieved sell this amount of players how do you do that?

Secondly if I want Sesko to score like 60-80 goals i must rebuild squad from stretch right? Because Sesko didn't score too much 8 goals in 15 apps. I'm winning all of my games tactically I'm now wrong I guess but Sesko didn't scoring. (I brought Quagriella for mentoring)

SEASON 2

So how's Jon and Co. doing in his second season in Scotland? 

Player

He is developing nicely, in a remarkable injury-free season. 

Managed to grow even more than last year, but toward March his development stopped... The coach said He is unlikely to develop more in the future Dunno if I did something wrong or not since this is my first time doing challenge. 

He is still banging goals, managed to put in 4 more goals in 8 less appearances all seasons. If we still have the same amount of games I'm confident he can break 100 goals barrier, but for now it is what it is. 

Team

- Transfer

Not many incoming transfer this season, managed to get Gold (!) rated academy kid in Rutherford. Gomez come in to replace Serrano that I sold after half a season with no increase in crossing. Culpi and Lucas is regen player, and Turrientes comes to add number in midfield as I lost some players to sell. De Ketelaere comes after season end. 

Sold Serrano for some profit back to Bilbao, but lose some money to them since there's sale % clausule. What really make me mad, after back to Bilbao his start developed like normal. This really annoy me, are all Basque players like that or what? 

Sold some original Celtic players for nice quid, I don't really want to sell O'Riley, he develop decently, but as Arsenal come knocking he is asking to be sold. 

Result

Season started nicely with Super Cup win against Juventus. Then got domestic treble, Rangers didn't pose much threat this season, but got one defeat in league from dark horse Livingston that almost steal 2nd place from Rangers. 

In UCL, managed to get out from group stage that contain PSG, Benfica, and Dinamo Kyiv, including one shock win against PSG. 

In knock out round we managed to reach Semi Final after defeating Sevilla and RB Leipzig. But giant from Munich prove to be too much for our young team. 

In the end, who are the best contributors in club? 

Turnbull still became a beast from midfield, but some statistic gone since my 2nd striker, Furuhashi, was sold at January. 

Pavon still got most assist for us, followed by his fellow wingers.

Total : 168/1000

I'll try to get 100 club goals for next season, the start is promising, finger crossed I get Spain job next season. This season got offer from Madrid, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Italy. All rejected ofc.

For the first question, there's some trick I get after reading this forum. 

Offer to transfer AND loan the players you don't need to all clubs. Some will have potential buyers, some won't. After that you can only wait for the offers to come. After the offer come, you need to haggle over the price with the buyers. There's two potential scenario here :

1. The offer to buy directly (transfer) 

- after the offer come, you need to negotiate with high price in the first nego - around twice the amount they offer/the players worth. 

They will negotiate, and each time you need to lower your price bit by bit. You can do it around 4-5 times, until they said 'we hope to resolve it in the next phase' or something like that. When they said so, you can just accept their latest offer or you can increase a bit (it's risky since they can just broke the negotiation). 

2. Offer to loan - just modify the option from 'Loan' to 'Transfer' and then negotiate. 

Actually there's a thread here that explain it clearer, forget what's the name. But youll get the hang of it after some time. 

 

For your second question, yes you need to build your own team. But you don't need to build it from scratch from the get go - the point is to get the player that will suit your system. And you can use some of Celtic player that could fit your tactic, they are good enough - at least in Scotland league. 

Building your own team can be done little by little, it don't have to be in 1 season. Imagine how much money you need to buy a complete team? You only got 21m in first season. 

Basically you need to buy the player that is essential for your formation - for example, to get my formation to work its essential to find good W and WB. That's why my first priority after the striker is the winger. Oh, if you happen to know some cheap wonderkids that's will be great in the future, with cheap price, you can also buy them, mostly from Spain. 

In my case : 

-Main striker : Jon (8.25)

-Mentor : Jutkiewicz - decent for aerial mentor (free with exchange) 

-Main Winger : Pavon (4.8) and Lainez (exchange with Abada. Abada is a great talent for IF - but not as a W, so he is not essential in my formation)

-2nd winger : usually talented kid that will be main winger after some season - Campbell (1.6) and Serrano (17, could only afford him after sold some players - and I regret a big time for bought him.) 

-Cheap wonderkids from Spain, with release clause : you can get a lot of them, but my absolute recommendation is Adrian Corral (675k), and Guille Rosas (1.6). And one not from Spain is Kacavenda (around 3-4m). They always turn out great. Other youngster you can see my career and others, or try to find them yourself. 

After you get the essential player, you can try to use the rest of budget to strengthen other areas. 

Oh as a bonus, some of Celtic player that I like to use - but use them as fit with your formation : McGregor, Turnbull, Welsh, Juranovic, Furuhashi, Jota (can be bought for cheap, just 6 mill before the season end), O'Riley, Mikey, Hart, Scales, Hatate.

I used him when I use IF in my first Celtic save... That's why he is an IF in my flawed memory xD

 

I didn't use Abada since I need main Left Winger after I buy Pavon, and I know that Chem Campbell will develop nicely, and available as cheap.

Giles is best left winger 21 years age with 15 Crossing and professional player and  u can buy him straight exchange with hatate ..

When u buy players from UK Ireland don't buy them straight away 1st enquiry about their price and than exit negotiations let the player outrage 

Than u can buy him even cheaper

OK thanks for the info, might try him for next challenge (if there's any). In this challenge I actually tried to get both Spain winger to help with NT job, that's why I buy Serrano. At least now I have Sergio Gomez for left winger xD

I already bought Rosas Pavon Sorniola Corral etc. I'm already good at negotiations but i didn't realize we can change loan offer to buy offer. Also Jota doesn't wanna sign how can i convince him?

If you get good result, around April-May you can bought him, as long as the loan still not end you can buyout him. Just make sure you still have money for buyout (6m) and possibly Carter Vicker (2m only) 

 

On another note, who is Sorniola?

Sorniola is a really good player at least in my saves good CA for these leagues and beast PA he can play LWB RWB good crossing and he develope really quick most of the time i can suggest him

From my Trabzonspor save i just signed Diego Costa he scored couple goals and i exchanged him. 

So I just realized i wrote his name wrong 😅

SEASON 3

Undoubtedly my best season so far. How? Let's see...

Player

His development is minimal I don't know how. He is still 21 y.o. Not a single 20 either. Oh well, it is what it is. 

How about his stats? Well... 

He finally broke the 100goals barrier! Yaaayyy! A really nice season indeed. Got injured once. But still banging goals like there's no tomorrow. 

And highlight of his season, of course this one match, where for the first time he scored 5 goals in a match. 

Team

- Transfer

CDK get in from last season budget. As my senior WB L leave on transfer, I need a new WB, and Cucurella available on transfer list. Alvaro Sanz from bosman as I decided to sell some of my mid player - and finally, Zabarnyi as my future main DC together with Corral. The Academy graduate is just so so, no gold this season. 3 gks and 1 wonderkid AML, too bad his foot is right so not too good for my team. 

Martin Tejon and Ross McCrorie sold because of their bad influence. Mosquera didn't develop as I hoped so when VillaReal coming I sold him. 

- Result

Domestic Clean Sweep, there's almost no resistance from local club. Most matches ended with 2 Goals difference or more. One little surprise is last year's dark horse, Livingston. After reached Scottish Cup final their performance dropped and ended in Relegation Playoff - that they won. 

In Europe, we managed to get out from our CL group - which contain Tottenham, Porto, and Royal Antwerp. 3W 1 D 2L.

I'm our first Knockout round we met Chelsea. After managed 2-2 draw in Stamford Bridge, we won 3-0 at Celtic. 

In quarter final, we met Premier League leader, Man City. Losing 2-1 at Etihad, managed to win 2-1 in our turf before Jon scored in extra time. 

Semi final, we meet another leader, this time from La Liga, Real Madrid. We managed to hold them 1-1 in Bernabeu, before (somehow) destroy them 4-0 in Celtic Park! The 75k supporters inside the stadium really become our strength this year. 3 times we managed to edge out our opponent in CL knock out in front of them. To the final... 

We meet another champion, this time from France, PSG. Can they finally won their first CL trophy? Or will Celtic do the miracle? Become a dark horse that destroy every single prediction? 

We're helped by Mbappe's red card in 18'... But still we only won 1-0. And they made more shot and shot on goal than us. Thankfully we managed to hold on. We won quadruple this year! 

In the end, our best contributor in team is... 

Jon with 124 goals of course, and I'm the second place is my back up striker, Culpi. Young striker that we bought last year, he has stat that can be used as main striker in other team, and he is still young! 

the assist charts is more balanced, there's no meaningful difference between my 4 wingers. Lainez is the most assisters this year with 32 assists. 

Goals

Season 1 : 82

Season 2 : 86

Season 3 : 124

Total : 292/1000

Finally >100 goals season. Still no Spain job, but finger crossed they will sack their current head coach, Andoni Iraola, after abyssimal campaign in the Euro. 3 losses in group stage. 

Anyway that's it, hopefully next season will be even better. Cya!

Thanks. The mentor I used for Jon was Lukas Jutkiewicz, from Birmingham. Pretty good mentor for Aerial. Credit to @Superking as Giroud won't sign and Carillo won't get work permit 😅

Another great mentor for Aerial

attributes but he didn't have any hidden attributes 🤣. Though u can get hidden attributes by finning player for his rating below 5 and with him as mentor u able to fine ur player nearly 3-4 times .. in a season or more . I get 18+ aerial with this mentor at starting of march in 1st season in my test save.

Well from my experience what I get from fining my player was always down moral and my squad lost respect of me 😅

Nice one, maybe trying him if I use lesser team someday.
