Tactics 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 high-scoring tactic

A few months ago, right after the release of the FM22, I was working on finding the perfect tactic for my saves. I ended up with the 4-2-3-1 formation (later I discovered that this tactic works with 4-3-3 flat as well) and the team roles and instructions are the following:

For 4-2-3-1:

GK - SK

RB - WB

CB - BPD

CB - BPD

LB - WB

CM - BWM

CM - CM 

CAM - AP

RW - IF

LW - IF 

ST- P 

 

For 4-3-3 Flat:

GK - SK

RB - WB

CB - BPD

CB - BPD

LB - WB

CM - AP

CM - BWM

CM - BBM

RW - IF

LW - IF

ST - P

 

Now, the team instuctions are the following:

Shape

Team Mentality: Attacking

Width: Balanced

Tempo: Fast

Creative Freedom: Expressive

 

Defence

Defensive Line: High (or balanced for lower-level teams)

Closing Down: All Over

Tackling: Normal

Offside Trap: Yes

Time Wasting: No

 

Attack

Final Third:

Look For Overlap

Shoot On Sight

Run At Defence

Passing Style, Passing Focus and GK Distribution: All Mixed

 

Note that this is a very attacking and high-risking tactic and is recomended to use it on higher level teams. You can use it on world class teams like Liverpool, Real, Bayern, City etc. but you can also use it on teams like RB Leipzig, Inter, AC Milan, Sporting CP, Arsenal etc. Of course you can use this tactic on lower-level teams for league games if you want to be the first guy in the village, but you'll have to be careful when playing against better teams.

Beautiful tactic, he won the league and cup titles and reached the Champions League final. strangely I found it very difficult against teams that play with a defensive mentality. Regardless of formation, teams with this mindset seemed to dominate my team with ease.

Did you try and change your own setup to counter if they play defensive?

What worked best for me was the control mentality, it didn't offer me many goals, but it had a better solidity. I believe that I still don't have a very big show since there are only 3 teams in the league that start the match already with defensive. I will test the counterattack more
