Currently managing west ham and after a shortage of goals from strikers I’m in the search of a new one. Currently have a bid accepted for Queirôs who’s scored quite frequently in an ok Middlesborough team in the Prem and all the other forwards I looked at are either 150M+ or are just bad.

Any help/input is greatly appreciated! :) C5B7202F-E9F1-4768-92D4-568B03A4A744.thumb.png.3276718601762d4863ab8bac3c6ae535.pngE03BC870-2547-4F5D-BA7E-BECED159DB3A.thumb.png.1157d02fe725e1e2b8047e18781b783f.png02A7560D-FD52-4E25-B75C-12B3DBDBAEFE.thumb.png.3ce5de889754272bb7bee9c489a6c574.pngDB631FB0-A287-4885-A15E-D7AB0A924359.thumb.png.b0eeb17e1edf32cea68d71001274f6d5.png

Interesting question. Especially considering you are in 2034, I guess the simple answer is “it depends

Complex answer in spoiler:

Spoiler

Why / Your motivation

If you sign him, will it change how you feel about your career / save?

  • E.g. if you have enjoyed developing youth / have a strict wage structure / saving money for a stadium - then would you want to keep playing the save if you broke away from that philosophy?

What / You Needs

You said you had a shortage of goals. To solve this, what is it that you need, or what was the reason behind the lack of goals?

Is your problem with the build up play, with creating chances, or with finishing chances? You want to solve the right problem.

  • E.g. depending on your tactical style - are you crossing the same amount as before? Are you playing the same number of through balls? Are you winning the ball back from the opposition as often as before?

Maybe the solution is a new ST. Or maybe it’s a new winger (to deliver more crosses). Or maybe it’s a tactical tweak to give your attackers more space. Or maybe it’s changing your WBs to IWBs for better build up play from the back. What is the real need?

How / Your Tactic

How do you want your team to score goals, and does this guy help with that?

E.g. under Solskjaer, Man Utd were scoring goals through a quick counter-attacking style to speedy strikers. When they signed Ronaldo, he didn’t fit in with that style, and they struggled.

  • Unlike Peter Crouch (10 years ago?), your guy Queiros is not better in the air (15 aerial) than most other EPL DCs
  • Unlike Vardy a few years ago, your guy is not faster than opposition DCs (11 pace)
  • Unlike Harry Jane, your guy is also not the creative DLP / Treq. type who plays through balls to IFs (12 passing + creativity)

However he is a natural / lethal finisher (20) like Ruud Van Nistelrooy he won’t create those chances himself, so needs to be given the ball to feet in the penalty box often - can your team do that?

How much / your finances

Can you afford him, and how will the rest of your squad react?

  • E.g. when a big player comes in on huge wages, the club’s other key players often ask for pay rises themselves. Can you afford it?

Just some fun questions to ask yourself 🙂
