I don't know my friend if they have made tactics suitable for 4-4-2. I used some 4-4-2 tactics on Fm22 but they didn't satisfy me. Fm22 is a game that suffers a lot from linear tactics. It greatly benefits tactics that occupy in-between spaces. I hope this problem has been solved on FM23 because 4-4-2 is a must in football.

I don't know whether we can switch some 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 tactics of the FM23PC version. Low level leagues such as the North South League are more suitable for two forwards, and many people test that it is difficult for this generation to score goals，Thank you.

4-4-2 or 4-2-4, I think we all make a mistake. We focus on the attacking game, but I think the role of the two center midfielders is fundamental. I suggest giving containment roles, and fielding two quantity players. In case of use of two outside attackers it is good that the two side defenders are totally offensive. If we use two wingers, the outside defenders must be defensive. The outside defenders must not obstruct with the wingers. Otherwise we lose game fluidity and unpredictability. Therefore: Wingers inside = offensive defenders Wingers out = defensive defenders. I repeat that the role of the 2 central midfielders is fundamental. 2 Central midfielders = rocky, defensive, able to recover the ball. This is because the game has to develop sideways to go to the cross or shot.

Defensive low players I think better, don't lower your position. Assign DLP role only. Develop lateral play, no central. Make one change at a time during testing. So you can see if that modification works. The more time passes, the better the tactics are interpreted by the players.

Corner update:

Central striker starting from the edge of the penalty area. Only the central defender marks the goalkeeper.

Ah you’re using the corner exploit. Have you tested without it? All tactics work when you get free goals using that.

No I just meant a default or different corner tactic. When you set mark keeper and cross to penalty it’s easy goals as game is broken there so not really a reflection of any tactic.

I'm with Mike on this one, any tactic where the CB is outscoring your main attacker(s) from corners renders the tactic itself void.

On FM23 they corrected something because out of 20 matches I scored only 2 goals, instead on FM22 they scored a lot

To be clear, neither Mike or I are trying to help you with the corner exploit, we are both stating that by using it, it makes the results of your tactic less impressive.

Yes, however, the exploit devalues your tactic. You will be performing better due to what is effectively a flaw in the game. You will be drawing games which maybe you would have lost, and winning games which maybe you would have drawn, because of a broken mechanic. Because of that, people can’t really judge your tactic honestly.

I understand what you mean, but honestly there is something not right. I've only scored 2 goals from corners to date. I think it's more of an Fm22 problem. On fm23 using the same system the goals are extremely few from a corner kick. They have definitely rectified this bug with respect to Fm22.

In fm23 I'm not experiencing this problem. Out of 30 seasonal matches, so far, the two defenders have only scored 3 goals.

I'm glad you like it. I wanted to create a real tactic, which has pros and cons, like in real football. I could make something OP but it wouldn't be real. A good tactic, for me, must guarantee realism otherwise if you win easily the game gets boring.

Yeah I like how it looks in terms of realism. I’ll definitely try it out in a save when I’m not doing a challenge.
