2nd season using this tactic is over. Huge difference to season 1. Now I have more possession and the opposition have far less shots at my goal. Last year won the league and a cup. This year...

Won everything - Fairly easily I might add.

It always happens though doesn't it. There's always that 1 game and this time it was West Ham at home. We smashed them to pieces but clearly left our striking boots at home that day so had to settle for a 0-0 🙄

At the start of the season I changed the CM to an RP in the hope of him being more involved and getting better ratings. This was successful. More goals and assists no longer getting 6's most games.

Fixtures

6 games in and we'd conceded 3 goals in 4 league games and lost away to Inter. After that loss I started every single game with - slow tempo, short passing and both flanks.

Instantly we had so much more possession and less shots at us.

The Fulham game above I was winning 4-0 then they got 2 stupid late goals. From here on out (nearly every game) I used all my subs around 60-65 minutes. I subbed both strikers, both wingers and the RP. At the substitution time I would also switch to creative freedom - disciplined and mentality - controlled.

Looks and sounds like you've made it better mate so well done to you, ill start a new save with it, just don't know who to be because I get bored quickly 🤣

I should add that all 4 of my 1st team wingers had at least 19 crossing and 3 of my 4 strikers had at least 19 heading.

Did the wingers have any PPMs? When I tried this, the two wingers just sit super narrow right next to the strikers and get on the end of crosses from the fullbacks.

Honestly, I didn't look at PPMs or anything like that, I did it with Wrexham so maybe that stuff doesn't matter as much in the lower leagues

Players Preferred Movements, but on FM Mobile it's called role traits I think

Just asking because the wingers I used never crossed the ball, so having 19 crossing was totally irrelevant unless your players behaved very differently. If they have 'hugs the line' or 'runs with ball down right' that could explain the difference.

As you can see 5 of the 6 can play in defence or midfield.

Are you making in game changes to anything? Tried version 1 in Mexico but didn't get much joy with it.

Surely one of these versions will work with Leeds 🤣

I'm using the original set up but changed the CM to an RP. Every game starts with original team instructions but also with slow tempo, short passing and both flanks. The only in game changes I make is at the point of my subs coming on when I switch to creative freedom disciplined and mentally control. Bare in mind the season where I won everything was the 3rd season of my Newcastle career and I had trained, retrained, and mentored the players to be exactly how I needed them to be - wingers and full backs high crossing, strikers high heading etc.

I do get bored easily so 3 seasons with money bags Newcastle is enough for me. I've literally just started a career as Leeds to see how I do. I'm an awful manager so I expect to get sacked but it will be a bit different. I've only had a quick look at the squad but so far I'm only keeping 3 players 😂

They're awful unless it's just me. Almost every tactic I have tried by myself or from here has failed with them, so good luck! Hopefully you'll find a solution.

Your version has turned my form so I'm hoping it continues. If I can just make it to the end of the season and add some more players I think this may be the tactic for Leeds!

This is what I'm working with until then;

Moved Gelhardt, McGurk, Drameh, Greenwood and Gnonto down to the reserves. I just thought though, I can recall Dan James from loan so I'll get that done pronto because he's rapid with good crossing.

I was over the moon when I looked at the reserves and saw Dan James. He's one of the few that I won't try to exchange.

I just paid attention to your squad. You definitely need Dan James as the rest of their crossing isn't great.

I know. It was trying to balance adding to the defence with a quality centre back and improving the midfield/forward area.

Summerville though has great pace and crossing so him and James are making a difference now.

Then i maid this tweaks. And working well season 3.

Kind of makes up for this one 

And don't get me started on this. 2nd game of the season and both CD's sent off.

Only 3 original players remain so they'll take a while to bed in. Some of the more difficult games out the way as well. Not going too badly so far.
