Chat Inverted wing backs and wingers strengthened?

Hello! I try a tactic in fmm23 that i used in fmm22. My squad quality is below any pl team, so it's below average. But we shoot 25-45 games every game and from what i've noticed, the iwbs and wings have become very strong. Iwbs make goals and assists almost every game, even though their shooting, passing and crossing attributes are low. Sometimes they even score hattricks. Of course i didn't play much and i don't know if this will continue like this or not, but it's looks unrealistic for now. Is that the case with you too? Also are left footed strikers better on the left side or on the right side? I haven't been able to decide that for years. Does anyone have any answer?

Note: I don't use them for corner/freekick or any set pieces.

I’m guessing you’re playing the IWBs in the DMR/L positions (not DR/L) - is that right?

I’ve noticed the IWBs in the DMR/L positions move alongside the AMC - so they are often just outside the opposition box, playing key passes + shooting from distance!

See post + screenshot from the ‘general discussions’ thread below…

Yes you are right, im using them in the DMR/L positions and i see them constantly trying shoots and passes from outside the opposition box. Interesting and unnecessary feature. Instead of making such a change, they could try to improve game optimization for low-end devices. I can't play with 5 leagues anymore because of them. Anyway...

Also, do you have an answer that you notice to my question about left-footed strikers?

I think they are controlling the ball better on the left side and shooting better on the right. Of course, this is the case in real life. I don't know what the situation is in the game. Shooting and controlling, i wonder which side the two are better combined.

Yeah, i also wonder the same thing a lot. Is it really better to have a leftie in your LCB position or whatnot..

Sorry - I’ve not noticed anything yet. I have my own personal preferences, but haven’t noticed anything / haven’t noticed which is best in the game.

Actually for me sometimes a right footer is better - if I want my DLC to pass the ball into the middle / center (right footer) or into the channel / wing (left footer).

Example - if (a) I want them passing to my DMC, (b) the opposition is playing without an AMC, and (c) the opposition have one one ST up-front. Depends

My IWBs are incredible. They don't really seem to shoot though but often setup my wingers for a cross, or atleast give them space, but they also seem to get plenty of assists themselves (Frimpong is GOAT!)

AM also seems to get so many more assists this year too. Its actually one of the reasons I'm really enjoying this version; I hated feeling that my wingers were doing all the leg work to get the striker goals and anything else just seemed ineffective.

Hi both, what kind of formation are you using? To pull IWB more front, only one MC could be used? I am interested in this kind "special" movement in game. Please share more. Thanks.

This was one fun tactic I was testing. It isn’t that good - but does show the IWBs moving up into the AMLC / AMRC positions either side of my AP.

Interestingly, the DLP drops back near the DMC position - but the B2B isn’t ideal, he gets in the way / occupies similar positions to my right sided IWB

Edit - As an alternative - now I generally prefer to have my IWBs in the DR/L positions (see image below).

Why? Instead of moving forward into the ANRC/LC positions, the IWBs move into the DMRC / DMLC positions, next to my DMC / DLP. This is really good for building play + possession from the back.
