Hello all, I wanted to share this tactic that I've recently been having a lot of fun with. If you're like me and prefer to see the goals flow and win 5-4 than a boring 1-0 then you might enjoy this too. It's also quite a unique formation so make sure you have plenty of central players.

Tactic

Preferred to keep the instructions simple so the players have multiple avenues of attack depending on the opposition, so the main thing is the narrow formation overloading the middle of the park and getting everyone involved.

Results

Have done well with West Ham up to the world cup sitting 3rd in the league on goal difference having made no transfers. I'll finish the season and post the final results. In the conference league and cup I played a completely reserve second XI (Aguerd at CDM, Coventry, Oko-Flex and the like starting) so with more strength in depth it would be even better.

Match/Player Stats

There's some fun matches I had with it, creating plenty of chances and unfortunate to lose to Spurs. Pretty much everyone in the squad contributing with goals and/or assists which I like to see.

I'm sure someone more tactically adept could tweak it to make a bit more solid at the back whilst maintaining the free flowing attack so feel free to have a play with it.

I played with this for a while after seeing it, and it's a good way to batter the door down against teams who will sit back against you! 

 

I did make a shape change that I like a lot, though. Instructions are all the same. 

The BBMs are great for your traditional fullbacks, since they will pull out wide off the attackers and cross several times a game. Your BPDs should go to the IWB role, and that'll make it easier for you to build out from the keeper. Striker as DLF is also good if you have a player who fits.

I also did an experiment with a 2-3-5. I noticed that when non-standard modules are used, the game's CPU struggles a lot. The CPU finds it difficult to find adequate countermeasures when there are plenty of forwards. This is because the CPU changes playstyle, but never changes tactical form.

@GingerbreadPooches + @hhooo - have you used this tactic since the update? I can’t remember when the update was + guess these still work as your tactics don’t involve IFs …

… any thoughts? 🙂
