Help Advice! Mezzala alternative?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I’m currently in the process of trying to replicate the ‘undisputed diamond’ tactic from FMScout - but having some issues completely transferring it from the full version to mobile.

The main issue is the lack of Mezzala option, so at the moment I’m using a RP in place - but I’m unsure whether a B2B would be more beneficial, and the RP is partnered up with AP.

I’ve attached some images for reference, but would be great to get some advice on this as I’m determined to make it work 🤣

Let me know what you guys think.

BBM is the best alternative just like what @hhooo said but it also depends on player traits. Even a CM could act kinda like mezzala if he got the traits. I would recommend you to change few role since you got no mezzala.

AM- AP so that you got player that roaming side to side behind both strikers.

AP-CM This role could act like a Mezzala if your player got the traits.(Just look for 'Move into channels)

  • Drift centrally? RP.

  • Move forward vertically (not central, not wide)? B2B.

  • Move forward vertically (wider)? B2B as a wide part of a midfield three, e.g. with the Anchor moved into the central midfield three, or the AM moved back to the central midfield three.

The one complication is that you already have an AMC infront and DMC behibd this player, meaning there’s less space for an RP to run into centrally, so an RP may stay a little wider than normal (if they are smart), but still less wide than a B2B.

Otherwise an RP will sit on top of the AMC for example, and may take the same space.

Does that help? 🙂

I generally find that BBMs will move wherever space is open, and are more open to adjust than playmakers. In a narrow formation like this, BBMs move into wide spaces in most situations - but you're right that playing a flat 3 will push them out further.

Last year, RPs would move wider and deeper to get on the ball, but this year they seem much more limited and just a fancier AP.

Also note that creative freedom affects player movement - expressive will get them moving around more!
