Chat Different report of scout and coach

Hi all,

I recently promoted to the Italian serie A. I have all scouts and coaches with silver badge. Frequently happen that my scout report a player with 5 stars of potential ability, but when I sign him my coach assistant (with young skill) report it with 3 stars of potential ability. This happened very frequently. In this case what's the truth? How can I improve this kind of operations?

Thanks in advance,

Davide

the reason this happens is most likely because you have silver rated staff
but star ratings aren't that useful yes they help you get a idea about the player but shouldn't be used as concrete reason to sign a player
always look at attributes not just stars also the star ratings changes based on form play time and other stuff im not quite sure

Thanks for you tip mate, you're very kind. Obviously I see attributes, but for the potential of the player I need an indicator to know how much he can improve. The problem in this case is that I start the job of the scout in the last days of the previous season, when I still was in the second league, after the promotion I should reboot the job because scout valuations are afflicted by the serie B level. Indeed now reports seems more reliable

Completely right, you can have a player scouted that is 5 stars, you buy him because of it, but if you do not play him, his stars drop to 2 or even less, this persuades you to sell him, but don't fall for it, play him 50% of the games and watch what happens, if he doesn't improve, take what @Sloth77said and use the form to make your decision. A quick note, not that it always works, but if a scout says 'World class' in his report, I usually take that as they are a good player and worth a look at, especially as a youngster, meaning they are probably a regen who will turn out a World Class player you can keep or sell on.

Great, thanks mate. It's better send scout to a specific area and specific role or leave him without filters? Because this is my first year in serie A so I need good youngs regardless of the role.

Thanks again

Hi, if you send a scout into the region he comes from, usually the results are better. Moreover if you are newly promoted, you can invest a little amount of money, 58m €, to send your scout to take the exam for an higher badge. Of course if the aptitude is at least normal.
