Chat Wide centre back

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to emulate the wide centre back role. I tried the defensive full back role, but still the opponents find a lot of positions. Should i use man mark? Waiting for your ideas.

Inverted Wingback (IWB) + Man Marking = Similar Role For Wide CB. IMHO

IMO, the only thing close to WCBs is a back 3

Left CB as BPD, Central D as CD or Sweeper and the Right CB as BPD

Libero would've been closer as they do lot more with the ball and when the team is in possession, they support game play more often than BPD but they rarely go wide so they can't fit in as WCBs but as BPDs with more technique and freedom to roam

If you take time to study FMM23, you will figure out some players perform better at specific roles for example, Saka he does better as a winger than an inside forward, Martinelli does better as an inside forward than a winger and then this Napoli guy Kvratarsh***** lols, he does better as an AP in the winger position than as a winger or inside forward, he is also good as a winger too but not better than as AP and worse as an Inside forward

My observations tho

So if you looking out for a good CB that can do the Wide CB thing as a BPD get Bensibani or Timber, Rice or Rodri too are good as BPDs. Ben Davies, Stones, Dier, Maguire, They are good as BPDs

Thanks for the comments. I'm using BPD at the right and left with man marking. And works really well atm.

@DanEnglish I can't use wide with because I'm using wingers and want them to act like IF 😂
